Disappeared[edit]

this npc dissappers when you have to save him on the rescue mission — Unsigned comment by 67.252.38.190 (talk) at 02:14 on 19 November 2011‎

Rescue mission? The only quest I think he is involved in is the Forsworn Conspiracy. After this for me he seemed to move into Waylin's room in the Warrens. Kimi the Elf 03:57, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Dryston's Note[edit]

Oddly, he seems to carry a note that he wrote. From the wording of the letter he apparently intended to deliver it to someone before interacting with the player, but for some reason that never happened and he still has it in his possession. -Trogdor — Unsigned comment by 75.34.56.243 (talk) at 07:58 on 26 February 2012‎ (GMT)

That note is for the quest The Forsworn Conspiracy. My character who one-shotted him right after exiting the warrens was directed to read that note to advance that quest.--AtrumVentus 07:21, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Bug: Brawl turns into assault[edit]

On several load-game-zone-in iterations it happened to me that Dryston trying to rough me up lead to the guards attacking me for committing assault -- and I haven't even slit his throat (yet). Anybody else have this? I didn't think the guards would reveal their true colour that early ;) 37.5.126.26 20:15, 13 August 2013 (GMT)

If you attack him with anything but your fists (i.e., weapons or magic), you will receive a bounty and any guards that witness the attack will join in and fight you to the death. Be sure you are only using your fists. — ABCface 22:59, 13 August 2013 (GMT)

Existence[edit]

Does he exist before or after The Forsworn Conspiracy? I don't recall seeing him around Markarth at any other time. Vicano (talk) 13:43, 31 January 2015 (GMT)

I've never seen him around, but might be worth looking for him in Nepo's house prior to getting this far in the quest. I'll take a look shortly, if I can find a save before starting the quest. Biffa (talk) 13:47, 31 January 2015 (GMT)
In the CK, it looks like he's only scripted to appear when the quest starts. --Beezer1029 (talk) 14:24, 31 January 2015 (GMT)
But at which stage? when the murder or attempted murder of Margret, once you read the note from Eltry? or once you enter the warrens to search the room? Biffa (talk) 02:17, 1 February 2015 (GMT)
Ah - If I'm reading it correctly, Dryston is scripted to appear at empty Stage 43, if Nepos is alive at that point. But of course the brawl doesn't happen until Stage 47, after you've read Weylin's note.--Beezer1029 (talk) 14:34, 1 February 2015 (GMT)
