Inequality?

Is there any official information at all as to why there is not an equivalent side quest for the Dawnguard? It doesn't really seem fair that people who choose to be a vampire can wipe out the Dawnguard, but vampire hunters can't wipe out at least the ones at Volkihar Castle. Requirements to Receive This Quest?

Does the information on this page indicate that Lord Harkon must be dead in order for you to receive this quest? I have completed the DG main questline up to the point before you retrieve Auriel's Bow, and can't seem to get this quest. --Xyzzy ^Talk 06:16, 23 September 2012 (GMT)

Will the Dawnguard respawn?

Just curious about this since I couldn't find any mention of it. Will the inhabitants of Fort Dawnguard (any of them at all, that is) respawn even after completing this quest? I wouldn't put it past Bethesda to make an oversight that severe.

Restoration Spells

According to the notes, it's possible to charm Florentius to get the Restoration spells before you kill him. In my game, when I tried this, he had nothing but basic weaponry for sale (his own, I believe, as there was virtually nothing there). This might be an artifact of the unofficial patch, though. Can anyone playing without the patch confirm that it actually is possible to charm him and buy spells from him during this mission? – Robin Hood  ^(talk) 06:23, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

I am playing vanilla Skyrim SE with CC and I can confirm I bought the spells using pacify as while wiping out the Dawnguard. SkyHiRider (talk) 20:59, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

I've tested it via the PS3 if you dual charge the spell Pacify and have the other perks on the right unlocked(also possibly necromancy from Restoration, you can buy a Armored Frost Troll from Gunmar.97.90.217.14 01:33, 28 October 2019 (GMT)
