Where can they be found?[edit]

I don't have Dawnguard (yet!), and thus can't really check. So, does anyone know where exactly these people can appear? It's upon fast-traveling to a location, but the only mention on-site I've found is at this page. Is there a definitive list that we can provide a link to? Thanks in advance, --Vulpa 01:39, 13 January 2013 (GMT)

P.S. What can we call them? Scouts? Assassins? We can't just refer to them as "Dawnguard".... --Vulpa 01:39, 13 January 2013 (GMT)

As far as I know, enemy Dawnguard only apear if you side with the vampires, they will attack you in random encounters, and can be found in several locations that feature in the dlc's quests, including Forebears' Holdout, as well as a few enemies named "Dawnguard Scout" at the fast travel point for Castle Volkihar. The ones in Forbears' Holdout are just called "Dawnguard". Again, all of these only appear if you side with the vampires, if you side with the Dawnguard then the enemies in quest locations and random encounters will be vampires, and there will be "Vampire Scout"s near Fort Dawnguard instead of "Dawnguard Scout"s near Castle Volkihar. Crazy Aggressive[edit]

If you side with Volkihar, the Dawnguard NPC's you encounter on the road aren't just hostile to you. They're hostile to a LOT of things. Animals, hunters (yes, hunters), carriage drivers, and any NPC that is friendly to you or considers you an ally, whether they're your companion or not. It's just insane - I first realized it when I heard the usual scream of "Halt, Vampire!" while trotting down the road, only to watch three Dawnguard chase after a fox. Which led them to a bear. "Halt, vampire!" By that time, they'd gotten close to Ivarstead, the guards were attracted to the bear being too close to the town. "Halt, vampire!", and they were scrapping the guards. Seriously. These NPC's are insanely, ridiculously aggressive. 174.28.84.105 16:39, 8 March 2020 (GMT)
