Skyrim talk:Cleansing Light

Quest randomly starting.

Had an odd thing happen, was in Shriekwind Bastion and just as I killed the Restless Draugr that came out to the final sarcophagus this quest popped up saying "Started: Cleansing Light" and directing me to return to Gunmar. Thing is, I'd never got the quest from him in the first place; it only started upon killing the Draugr. Is this a known bug? I had no trouble finishing the quest by going to him, just don't know why it started. AyaHawkeye (talk) 20:52, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

This is a theory: it's probable that the quest is pre-programmed; if you somehow manage to slay the Draugr before the quest is given, the result is that it initiates the quest stages prematurely. Not saying it's a bad thing, though. DRAGON GUARD^(TALK) 21:24, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

If it is unique to this quest, then yes. If, however, it occurs for other quests which have the same/similar things (i.e., kill a monster and report back to the quest giver), than maybe not. DRAGON GUARD^(TALK) 22:22, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
