Dremora[edit]

Anyone know why he's supposedly a dremora? — Unsigned comment by 68.200.239.165 (talk) at 15:56 on 26 November 2011

It was an issue with the game data, it's been resolved now. The Silencer speaksTalk 23:44, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Related quests[edit]

I was wondering if he should have Lights Out! as a related quest. He doesn't technically play a role in the quest other than a high level enemy, but is that enough for the quest to be considered a 'related quest'? Halfstache 03:56, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

The page says that issues arise if you kill him before that quest, and he is unavoidable, so I would say yes. Vely►Talk►Email 20:06, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
There are no issues whatsoever if you kill him before Lights Out!, because the target in Lights Out! is Jaree-Ra (who only moves to Broken Oar Grotto in the last part of Lights Out!). If he is not killed before Lights Out!, he won't play any role whatsoever, he's just another regular bandit concerning the Lights Out! quest, so he isn't related to Lights Out! at all and it is incorrect to affirm that he is to be killed in Lights Out! as the page states. That has to be corrected. The only quest related to him is the Kill the Bandit Leader miscellaneous quest given to you by Ahtar in Solitude. If you kill him during Lights Out!, Ahtar won't give the quest to the player and will not be available as a follower. — Unsigned comment by 77.54.93.217 (talk) at 00:27 on 27 July 2012
As a common enemy during the quest, he is related. The Silencer speaksTalk 23:44, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Why are you saying that he is a common enemy? Don't you see that he isn't meant to be killed in Lights Out!? If you kill Captain Hargar during Lights Out!, you will break the misc quest given to you by Ahtar precisely meant to kill him, thus rendering Ahtar impossible to be your follower. When playing through Broken Oar Grotto during Lights Out!, Captain Hargar will be there only if and because you didn't kill him before, that's the only thing related between him and Lights Out!, which at the same time isn't a relation at all - notice that he won't respawn during Lights Out! if you already killed him before, be it by following Ahtar's orders or not. He is not related to Lights Out! nor he is meant to be killed during that quest! The quest Amulet of the Moon can also lead the player to Broken Oar Grotto, who might encounter Captain Hargar there if he wasn't killed before, but that doesn't make a person/quest relation, same for Lights Out!. Only because a quest leads to a place where you happen to find a character, that does not play any role in that quest, doesn't make the two things related. — Unsigned comment by 77.54.93.217 (talk) at 01:03 on 27 July 2012
Common as in commonly found. True he is the target of Ahtar's quest, but during Lights Out, if he is alive he will be found, thus he is related. Any quest that sends you to this cave will have him as related, because each quest is treated as if it where the first (optional) quest completed by players. this should be under quest timing section of quests.[edit]

thanks for ruining my character where i was trying to do every single quest other then the ones you cannot accomplish such as both stormcloak and imperial as you cannot do both. thanks for not putting any indication during thieves guild quest that killing linwe would kill another quest. thanks for not putting any indication that ahtar's kill the bandit leader quest needs to be done before lights out. now i am very very very very very pissed. hundreds of hours of work ruined now cause you have a quest section called quest timing yet you dont have quests that are timing sensitive in it. thanks again for ruining my character by lack of information. probably why there a dozen other quests i cannot start of which is preventing me from becoming thane of falkreath.

Stub[edit]

What will need to be done to his article to make it a non-stub? DGAny Questions? 12:52, 31 October 2013 (GMT)

There probably just isn't enough information in the games. Xolroc (talk) 12:54, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
Go into more details such as what will need to be added to the article to make it a non-stub. DGAny Questions? 13:27, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
I'm saying it will probably never not be a stub. There's simply not enough information in the game to make it fit the qualifications for a non-stub article. Xolroc (talk) 13:35, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
A permanent stub? Hmph. I have added all the info that can possibly be added. DGAny Questions? 13:40, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
We don't really do permanent stubs. Stubs aren't just short pages, see here for a little bit more info on that (which also links to other pages for more info). But basically for NPCs you want all specific schedule information, outfit and inventory, normal actions, quest actions, possible interactions with the player (actions and dialogue), interactions with other NPCs, any services, etc. A page should also be written from in-game experience, not just data from the CK/CSList. — ABCface 13:59, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
This one I will have to let the schedule slide. There isn't much to say for the schedule, except saying: He stands by his bed all day long, never eating or sleeping. That is true. In the CSList, no AI packages are listed for him. DGAny Questions? 14:07, 31 October 2013 (GMT)

() I'd say that IS interesting though; most npcs have some sort of schedule. And to ABCface: sorry! I suppose I'd misunderstood what a stub meant. Xolroc (talk) 14:32, 31 October 2013 (GMT)

I'm sure there's SOMETHING we can find to fill the page. Dialogue, schedule, inventory, possible player interactions, all of these are things that can go into an NPC page. Take this edit I made as an example; I took what I knew about an NPC from dialogue and relevant in-game material and used it to make a description of the character. The same thing applies here. Follow him around, talk to him, glean what information you can about his person. If there truly isn't anything noteworthy about this NPC, then just list his inventory and schedule. There's still work to do here, which is why it's a "stub". ThuumofReason (talk) 15:07, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
ABCFace is right here.
ThuumofReason, he isn't a normal NPC, he is a hostile bandit. That means he doesn't have unique dialogue or much like that. Understand? DGAny Questions? 16:14, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
I've seen him conversing with Jaree-Ra away from his bed, so he does move around. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:52, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
In any case, the article is not complete. In addition to a better introductory quest description, the page needs a schedule (yeah, even wandering near his bed is a schedule), all the rumors from Ahtar, the conversation between two of the Blackbloods, and so on. As the leader of the Blackbloods, his article may even qualify for all the rumors spoken by Solitude citizens after the Lights Out! quest, when they express gratitude that the Marauders will no longer stop the trading caravans. So, the stub tag should stay. --Krusty (talk) 20:12, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
Silencer, what was he conversing with Jaree-Ra about? And was it during the quest? DGAny Questions? 21:13, 31 October 2013 (GMT)

() Actually, he does have unique dialogue. I've heard him talking to Jaree-Ra during the quest as well, although I don't remember exactly what it was about. I believe he was upset with the way Jaree-Ra was handling business. If I recall, his journal also has some interesting information which could be used to flesh the page out. There's plenty we can do to flesh the page out; even if he's hostile, he's still a named NPC with his own personality. ThuumofReason (talk) 21:25, 31 October 2013 (GMT)

That would be good, but: Judging from the journal there isn't much. I do believe that "scapegoat" bit is using the player as a scapegoat during Lights Out!, but I don't want to speculate. DGAny Questions?<
