Jarls in Basement[edit]

After completting the Stormcloak questline, when defeted Jarls are in the basement, they will try to arrest you if you have a bounty in their original hold. — Unsigned comment by 193.48.25.224 (talk) at 16:00 on 5 January 2012

Attacking Palace Guards[edit]

When you progress up to the Find out who the gourmet quest for the Dark Brotherhood the guards in the Blue Palace attack you and the non-guard NPC's attack the guards. On XBox 360 — Unsigned comment by Vinkor (talkcontribs) at 02:31 on 10 February 2012 (GMT)

Glitch with dawnguard installed?[edit]

I just downloaded Dawnguard for PC and started a new game, and I noticed that I can go into Elisif's room by passing through the door when it's closed. Interestingly, when I try to exit through the same closed door, I move through the door, but there's an invisible barrier just beyond it that prevents me from going back into the audience chamber until I open the door. Has anyone else experienced this? I wanted to make sure this hasn't been noted before I added it to the page. It's been a while since I've made content edits in the Skyrim namespace >_< ThuumofReason 12:52, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure if this is related to adding Dawnguard to the game. Before I downloaded it, the same thing happened to me. It also happened with the court wizard's room across the hall. But it needs pointed out anyway. Thelisaraptor (talk) 16:25, 3 November 2012 (GMT)
The bug doesn't appear until the doors are closed. It seems that the activator for the doors isn't properly fixed to the doors, and instead is a bit separate, and away from both doors. I'm WIPing this page so it'll be included. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:36, 20 January 2013 (GMT)

A Secret Chest Under the Basement Floor[edit]

On PC I located an unlocked chest underneath the floor of the Blue Palace (using TCL), specifically the basement where all of the displaced Hold Jarl's were. The chest was located just beneath the floor, slightly past the staircase, on the first bench against the wall to the direct left.

This chest appears to contain all of the items that Sybille Stentor has for sale, including items that I unmistakably sold to her recently (we're talking about a Dragonscale Armor of Peerless Restoration & other things). Most of the items were listed in red.

Has anyone else seen this chest, and/or can confirm if it is tied to Sybille, or has any other purpose?

For reference, I am running Skyrim 1.6.89.0.6. Thanks all! --GodRaine (talk) 05:54, 19 February 2013 (GMT)

All it is is her merchant chest, all merchants have one and they're always hidden in the floor so the PC can't steal from them. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 05:58, 19 February 2013 (GMT)

Jarls wanting to kill me?[edit]

I went to the Blue Palace recently and most of the old Jarls started to attack me for no reason at all. I have no bounty, all I was there for was to speak to Balgruuf, what has happened? I am playing on PS3 so can't go into t console mode. Its really weird.

Every jarl dislikes you if you displace them, it seems that you may have triggered something else to make at least one dislike you more, to the extent that they are openly hostile to you. The others would join in as they are all in the same faction. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 14:18, 16 March 2013 (GMT)
In my case, the children had relationskiprank -2 with player - no idea why. Had to click every single cellar-dweller: setrelationshiprank -1; setav aggression 0, resetai. That worked. --Kaay (talk) 19:35, 15 September 2013 (GMT)
I had this same glitch and noticed I had a bounty of 40 gold in Whiterun, 2000 in the Rift and 25 in Morthal. I removed them all for the sake of it but it was probably the Whiterun bounty as I was being attacked by Balgruuf/Proventus/Irileth and Hrongar. After i'd paid them all off they were no longer hostile.Pretermit (talk) 15:23, 28 February 2014 (GMT)

Interesting trivia about Elisif's throne[edit]

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but in the Creation Kit, the throne belongs to Ulfric. Does this actually serve a purpose (I hear Ulfric makes trips to Solitude if he survives the war) or is it just some stupid Stormcloak easter egg? 109.153.131.239 21:46, 27 July 2013 (GMT)

I have never seen anyone but Elisif sit on the throne, and I've completed the Civil War for the Stormcloaks I think about 3-4 times now. It's probably not an easter egg, it's probably just connected to yet another one of the never-realized plans for the Civil War. --Morrolan (talk) 20:13, 15 September 2013 (GMT)
There's a number of random itmes, doors, pieces of furniture, etc. in the game that are marked as owned by someone entirely unrelated, and generally this sort of thing has no effect on gameplay whatsoever. In this case, it's possible it was intended for some purpose or another, but saying so anywhere on the wiki would be pure speculation, especially with the numerous other examples of such things in game data. — ABCface 20:17, 15 September 2013 (GMT)

Misplaced activators[edit]

I was just able to go around the invisible barriers for the doors. So I think it should be "almost completely blocked" instead of "totally blocked". I had I jump quite a bit though. I0brendan0 (talk)

Are you sure you were at the point where the total block occurs (enter the room, close the doors, walk through closed doors)? Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:37, 27 April 2014 (GMT)
yes I'm sure. I will try it again and tell you which door(s) and which side(s) I could get through. I0brendan0 (talk)
[EDIT] left side of Sybille's room and both sides of Elisif's room. You have to jump to get through because the activator is misplaced down also. So jumping gets you to the top of the activator then you can go to the side from inside. Coming from outside you can time the jump right and get over. Oh one more thing... I just watched Elisif go into her room and the misplaced activator went into the right spot. I assume that Sybille's will also. — Unsigned comment by I0brendan0 (talkcontribs) at 23:48 on 28 April 2014 (GMT)

Reclaimed holds[edit]

If the Pale and/or Winterhold is given to the Empire during Season Unending and subsequently reclaimed by the Stormcloaks, will Brina Merilis, Kraldar, and their respective governments come to the Blue Palace? Or do they go somewhere else? If they do come here, should that not be noted? ~Kalarus 19:14, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
