Versions of USKP after 1.3.2c[edit]

If we download and install the latest version of USKP from, say, AFK Mods, should we unsubscribe to the Steam version? Will they conflict? --Xyzzy Talk 03:14, 19 September 2013 (GMT)

Yes, you should unsubscribe from Steam in that case or it will just reapply the old files if it realizes they've changed. Arthmoor (talk) 08:49, 1 October 2013 (GMT)
Ok. Thanks Arthmoor. --Xyzzy Talk 13:26, 1 October 2013 (GMT)

Load order[edit]

The readme files included with the downloads all say to move the unofficial mod up to load after the related add-on. Does this mean that if you install all 4 unofficial mods for the main game and the 3 add-ons, they should alternately load the game file followed by the related mod file, or load all 4 game files first then all 4 unofficial mods? --Xyzzy Talk 05:30, 29 October 2013 (GMT)

Get through Steam?[edit]

Can you snag these through Steam? Or do you have to download it separately and manual instal? Just got Skyrim as part of the Anthology and the UOP was great. FMPhoenixHawk (talk) 03:21, 18 November 2013 (GMT)

It used to be on Steam, but for some reason it is no longer there. You have to download it from somewhere else for now. Vely►t►e 03:30, 18 November 2013 (GMT)
I find the Nexus Mod Manager to be moderately convenient for this kind of thing. It's not totally pain-free, but it's a lot better than doing a full manual install, plus it's easy to see when there are updates. Robin Hood  (talk) 03:33, 18 November 2013 (GMT)
Okay. Thanks, guys. Will fiddle with it next time I get the chance. FMPhoenixHawk (talk) 00:00, 20 November 2013 (GMT)
From my conversation with one of Arthmoor's ppl (forgot her name), the patches were becoming too big to keep on Steam, which has a 2 MB limit (if i remember the number correctly), causing them to be forced to pull the patches off of Steam. VycDarkshadow (talk) 02:52, 4 December 2013 (GMT)

() The size problem has been fixed as back in March 2015 Bethesda removed the 100MB file size limitation from Steam Workshop mods Destructoid and all of the Unofficial Patches (e.g. Steam's Unofficial Skyrim Patchhave been back on Steam since April 2015 so the Steam links should be readded on UESP for each of the Unofficial Patches. 90.197.22.214 18:23, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Sure, go ahead. —Legoless (talk) 18:30, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Console installation[edit]

In regards to the recent changes, it is not our place on the wiki to document—and in so doing, implicitly condone—anything that contravenes the Terms of Use of any given console. Console modding may happen, but this isn't the place to document it. Robin Hood  (talk) 01:51, 10 January 2014 (GMT)

Fix Lists[edit]

They've been moved but the captcha isn't working and gives me a blank list, so change www to afkmods in the links. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:23, 11 October 2014 (GMT)

Contribute to Unofficial patch?[edit]

Is there a way? I.e. via github? — Unsigned comment by 194.33.119.1 (talk) at 19:26 on 1 March 2015

Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch [USLEEP][edit]

Arthmoor's team is making USLEEP (Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch)

Source: Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch which as we know is the forum of Arthmoor's website.

According to the topic made by Arthmoor (whom is also an UESP member):

There will be an unification patch of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, the Unofficial Dawnguard Patch, the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch and the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch at some point so that they are become 1 mod rather than 4 mods. This merged mod will be called Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.

They have decided that the best course of action will be to rename the esp to match the mod's updated name. It will remain an ESP file flagged as an ESM as that makes the process of working on it less of a hassle for them, the game, CK, and existing mod management tools are completely fine with it. They have also verified that switching the ESP name will not cause any scripts modified by the project, or added new to the project, to throw Papyrus errors. The only side effect will be that the retroactive update scripts will all run again. That shouldn't cause any problems though and they'll make sure any scripts manipulating formlists are safeguarded against generating duplicate references in them.

The hi-res DLC patch will remain a separate entity as many people do not use it for one reason or another and it's not considered part of the "Legendary Edition" of the game either.

After the unification process is done, the existing separated patches will no longer receive updates. The files will remain up in their existing entries but will be frozen.

Mods which rely on using the USKP/UDGP/UHFP/UDBP are strongly urged to make plans to switch over to the new master file when it's ready. Other mods which import fixes from the unofficial patches are also strongly urged to make sure they are up to date before November. It would also be best if any translated versions of the patches out there get synced up with the current update of the English version so that as many people as possible will have access to them while the unification is underway.

They will have a testing release at some point before the unified patch is ready to go live. The usual cautions against using beta copies on saves the players intend to keep will apply. That step is going to last no less than a full month so that there's time enough to shake out any bugs that result from the process. 90.197.22.214 19:04, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Recommendation[edit]

Can someone give me a list of the best recommended mods for Skyrim that can enhance gameplay and invoke realism?

This topic is (now) unrelated to the content of the article, and more suited to the forums. Please feel free to continue the discussion there.

Skyrim Special Edition[edit]

I think it may be prudent to create a new entry for the patch with regard to Skyrim Special Edition. SSE is a distinct product and the old USLEEP information doesn't apply since SSE has all DLCs integrated and there are going to be bugs unique to SSE down the road.

Plus the information on console support is awkward where it's placed in the current USLEEP information since USLEEP is still a PC-only thing. USSEP is the only patch available on consoles and that's only for XBox One because PS4 has restrictions on any mod that needs a BSA archive. They can only use ESP files and that blocks the patch from being applied there. Arthmoor (talk) 06:19, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

As far as I can tell a few months later, and having rewritten the article, USLEEP has been merged into USSEP. As the article is up-to-date with USSEP it is fair to say it is available to X1 users. The only things I am unsure of are, is the entire backlog of fixes available on X1, and is USLEEP completely defunct as USSEP seems to be backwards and forwards compatible with all PC versions and X1? If both answers are yes then there shouldn't be a need to create a split. A sentence on where to locate the patch on the Xbox store might be in order if it isn't totally obvious where to find it (and maybe even then as we do want to be comprehensive and helpful). Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 04:00, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
USLEEP was used to seed the first version of USSEP but they have both since diverged since SSE has issues unique to it that aren't applicable to Legendary Edition. USSEP is also not backward compatible with the Legendary Edition of the game, and nor is USLEEP forward compatible. They are two different mods, because the games are two different entities. USLEEP will still be receiving support for some time, but we do not intend for that to last forever either. Arthmoor (talk) 05:01, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
I've rewritten the page to reflect that information as best I can. I've restored the USLEEP links and added some UHRP links. If you see any mistakes please let us know or fix them Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:21, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

Unofficial patch is a mod[edit]

Since this patch is actually in form of a MOD I think it is worth mentioning that for Xbox One users this means that there won't be ANY achievements once that mod has been activated (loaded). Quite sad that Bethesda couldn't either fix at least all known issues prior to the release or create a mod system that would allow patch mods to be loaded and still get achievements on Xbox One. — Unsigned comment by 205.143.3.36 (talk) at 15:22 on 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Though I do understand your frustration over the lack of patching of the Special Edition, it is nothing more and nothing less than what the original edition had. Unfortunately, we were promised nothing more on that front either. It was only a remastering of the existing game with better graphics for new platforms.
Regarding the unofficial patch, it should be quite obvious that it is quite unofficial just by the name of it, and as such, nothing more than a mod, with all ups and downs of any mod. (One could of course question why this site is promoting one particular series of mods, just because it has been named a kind of patch, but that is a choice made at some point, and as such this is how we do it.)
I am not sure if the blocking of achievements is a choice done by Bethesda or the console developers, but I can understand it, even though it has many negatives. If they did not suspend achievements for mods, it would be only minutes before someone had made a mod that unlocked every achievement possible by just starting the game, ruining the whole point with awarding achievements at all. —MortenOSlash (talk) 18:15, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
Blocking achievements was done because both Microsoft and Sony demanded it before allowing mods onto their platforms. Arthmoor (talk) 19:08, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

High Resolution Patch[edit]

Since the issues addressed by the unofficial patch were resolved by an official update should it not be mentioned that it has been depreciated and is no longer a useful mod and essentially just one big dirty edit? It is mentioned elsewhere on the wiki, such as the official DLC page itself. Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 19:39, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

No, and if the DLC pages say such things that information is completely incorrect and needs to be reverted. Assuming you're talking about old Skyrim and not SSE at least. Arthmoor (talk) 20:04, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
If you are talking about the one bug listing on the DLC page that mentions two issues, then you need to check the patch notes before assuming that is all that was/is wrong. I count 36 bulleted fixes in the UHRP notes. Vanilla Skyrim is essentially a different game to SSE, and as the HRP is still available for it, the fixes should still be available and listed. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:56, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
Right, the only thing mentioned on the official DLC page is an update that fixed a couple of missing textures. I don't see anything there (or anywhere else) that says the whole unofficial patch is deprecated. --Enodoc (talk) 12:04, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
It's the only bug listed so it makes it look like that's all that needed doing. Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 19:31, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

Historical Patches[edit]

Today I decided to look over the hyperlinks posted in the Historical Patches section. All four URLs that linked to the Steam Workshop appear to now be missing or moved. While this is not a high priority issue, I still felt I should ask if it is preferred to remove the section altogether, or provide new links. Even if the "it's a very old legacy patch" angle is obvious. Scozz

The "historical" versions are no longer being offered anywhere so they probably should be removed from the page. Arthmoor (talk) 20:46, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
If there are no links anywhere, the whole section should go. It was only there because you could still download them. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:40, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Done. Arthmoor (talk) 23:04, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

Bugs in the unofficial patch[edit]

Here's what i discovered

1 Nightingale Hall no longer appears on the map 2 Riftwald Manors gate is now locked 3 Belrand is barefoot

Also Brynjolf is still invincible..

I attend to look for more bugs but for now, this is what i could find — Unsigned comment by 71.220.246.206 (talk) at 23:05 on 5 February 2019‎

This isn't the place to report bugs in the mod. You'll want to do that on their bug tracker. —Dillonn241 (talk) 00:32, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Also helpful when said reports are valid issues too. Which these are not. Sounds like mod conflicts. Arthmoor (talk) 05:26, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
