Your Shadow

The Shadow is a clone of yourself found near the hotsprings outside Mistwatch. It manifests with the same armor that you are wearing, as well as a copy of the sword version of Shadowrend. The Shadow can use spells and even shouts that you have learned.

Notes[edit]

  • The name of this NPC depends on the name of your character: [player]'s Shadow.
  • The Shadow will always be a Nord if you are a human race, or a Wood Elf if you are an elven race (other than Orc). This may result in the Shadow having different resistances and being slightly taller or shorter than you.
  • The Shadow is immune to the Wabbajack's transmogrify effect.

Bugs[edit]

  • If the Shadow uses the Marked for Death shout, it can cause permanent damage to you or your allies' Armor Rating, and even cause your damage resistance to become negative. This results in taking increased damage from all physical sources.
    • The Official Skyrim Special Edition Patch, version 1.6.629.0.8, fixes this bug.
    • On PCThis can be fixed by opening the console, selecting the affected actor, and using the command restoreav damageresist 9999999.
  • The Shadow can use shouts that you have learned, but haven't yet unlocked. They will also use all three words of the shout, even if you have only learned the first word.
  • If you're wearing an item with an enchantment that fortifies your attributes when the Shadow is summoned, the Shadow's health, magicka, and/or stamina will be higher than yours.
Mod Notes: Your total health/stamina/magicka is considered as the base health for the Shadow, and the Shadow can then equip the same enchanted armor for more bonuses.
  • Once you kill the Shadow you can get a letter from the courier given you the misc quest to "Collect the reward from 'PLAYER' for killing Shadow. ?
