Shivering talk:Ushnar gro-Shadborgob

If you talk to him as a kahjiit he will run around and have his dog attack you. I have not experimented with this much. Everything happened rather quickly and suddenly seducers we're shooting him with arrows and I was being attacked by a dog.

Clubs[edit]

I just killed him and to my surprise, I found 29 clubs in his inventory plus the club that he had equiped.--Imperial Scum 21:25, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

Do you have any mods installed? A similar thing has been reported for Muurine and we'd like to know how it happens. –RpehTCE 04:42, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Nope this was on 360. No mods here. Sorry it took so long to respond. I've been busy.Imperial Scum 16:14, 7 May 2008 (EDT)

If I would hazard to guess, I would suppose it has something to do with the scripted duelist fight at night. I'm not digging through the CS to find out, but I would suppose either a script places a club into his inventory, or he managed to disarm his opponent and pick up their club. --Saruuk 19:59, 7 May 2008 (EDT)
Yea, that makes perfect sense to me. I guess that should be added to the article about the duelest fights if there is one.--Imperial Scum 21:54, 7 May 2008 (EDT)
I'm no expert in the CS, but it looks like he gets a club any time he interacts with Cutter, if I'm reading it right. There's code there that's obviously supposed to remove the club, but I'm guessing that perhaps it doesn't work properly under all circumstances, so he just keeps building up more and more clubs over time. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 14:41, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Doesn't this mean he'll get over encumbred after a while?-Volthawk 19:57, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Its the rooftop fight club glitch.--Corevette789

Unique dialogue[edit]

I'm not putting this up on the main page, since i don't know the professional template for NPC page redesigning, but I took the time to look up the unique main-quest depending dialogue for Ushnar.

Someone new around? Not one of those horrible cats, I hope.

The Gatekeeper is dead? Who will keep out the cats? They'll be everywhere!

Again the Resonator pulls men to it. But cats? No! Why? It should draw them far from here!

Chalices? Who can think about chalices with the cat problem around here? Nasty beasts.

Torture in the House of Dementia? I'm constantly tortured! Cats everywhere.

I'm glad the Great Torch burns again. Cats hate fire.

Perhaps the new ruler of Dementia will do something about the cat problem.

A new ruler for Mania? Great. They don't have the same cat problems we have in Dementia.

The Fringe is under attack! Probably a cat conspiracy.

The new Gatekeeper will keep out those horrible Khajiit.

The armies of Sheogorath are renewed. Let them march now on the horrible cats! Wipe them from the Isles!

Where has Sheogorath gone? Who will save us from the cats? Won't someone think of the cats?

Order is defeated, but the cats still prey on us all.

Hope it'll be helpful. Bon Appetit.

Hey, thanks for posting this! I'm actually working on adding this dialogue for all the SI NPCs that have it. I have a progress list here if you'd like to see how I've been doing it and add this dialogue yourself. Otherwise, I'll get to it eventually ;). Thanks again! –Eshetalk 18:35, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Dead[edit]

Randomly appeared dead, not sure why considering his low aggression stat. I'd blame it on Big Head with his fork stealing ways, but I can't imagine that Big Head would win in a fight against him... CloudT 07:18, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

On my game the dog randomly attacked people and there was a huge crowd and they killed it, but I only noticed by coincidence of doing a little spin-jump, otherwise they would have just killed it and moved on and you would never know. Maybe its a glitch?AdairTheNord 17:30, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

I was walking up the stairs from killing Hirrus Clutumnus wearing my Ring of Detect Life, and noticed some life form floating below Earil's Mysteries. TCL off, and went down to look. It was Ushnar's dog sitting beside his dead body. 2:40 am the day after meeting Sheogorath, he has: Duelist's Key, his house key, 3 Ale, 308 Gold. I guess he just died in a duel, but how did the body end up there? GRPeng 20:03, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

He turned up randomly dead for me, too. I happened to come back into Crucible wearing the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, and saw the purple "life" shimmer way below the street level. TCL off and float down, and he was laying dead a few stories directly underneath Caldana Monrius' house. His dog was alive and pacing in place right next to his body. I resurrected him via the console; it said he had selected his travel package, and then both he and his dog popped back up to the normal street level and resumed their normal routine. There was a repair hammer still laying where his body was, so I picked it up and floated back up to the normal street level before TCL on. This was in the daytime, sometime late in the Shivering Isles main quest - probably during Symbols of Office. 73.3.58.200 06:53, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Ushnars dog[edit]

after getting the kajjit to leave crucible ushnar offers you his skinned hound. i took the skinned hound but not long after people randomly started chasing it and attacking it. I did not see how the fight started but dark seducers were running to kill it. It was particularly intrested in the rooftop fight club. this has happened both with my dark elf and my imperial charictor. Why did this happen? has it occured with anyone else??? any help would be appreciated as i'd like to keep the dog, even if it is (Very ugly. Thanks x Vikixox 19:19, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

I had the same problemAdairTheNord 17:27, 14 February 2011 (UTC)????
Maybe the skinned hound gets agitated when Ushnar fights in a duel? I noticed the skinned hound was agitated right before I found Ushnar dead (see entry in Dead). GRPeng 20:09, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

partially inspired by Ulthar?[edit]

I'm reminded of Lovecraft's short story The Cats of Ulthar. Ulthar is a town rather than a person, but the similarity of name and the association with cats was interesting anyway. --92.1.41.90 17:02, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
