Not a Bliss quest[edit]

I believe this is a Crucible quest, not a Bliss quest. I only have rudimentary editing skills, so could somebody more knowledgable move this? Thanks. Ambiguous Nord 16:47, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Calming Pants problem[edit]

For some reason She wont take the calming pants from me. I somehow ended up with 2. I was wondering if there are any known fixes for this? Mud man3 20:56, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

read the bugs part!--GUM!!! 18:42, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

so the torches were lit[edit]

And I hadn't saved for awhile is there a fix to this bug. If I come back later will they unlite themselves or am I screwed for this quest — Unsigned comment by 71.209.73.26 (talk) at 23:20 on May 13, 2007

Make sure you are trying to light the correct torches. The three in the middle, right next to the urn, are always on fire. You have to get the three in the corners of the room burning. ThebigMuh 17:57, 9 September 2007 (EDT)

Getting back the ring[edit]

"Since the Ring of Desiccation is originally part of the Museum of Oddities, after you have completed this quest, you can actually buy the ring back from Ahjazda and donate it back to the Museum" Do you have to buy the ring back immediately? I went back to find it a few days later and she didn't have it (or at least it was not available to buy). Maybe her inventory re-sets? If so, the note should mention this.

You can't buy it back, she equips it and never takes it off. Not even when she sleeps. Can someone check if the article really is right when it says that you can buy the ring back from her? It seems it isn't, so can someone who can confirm by looking at her script please edit the article? SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 12:38, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
In order to keep the Ring of Desiccation and complete both quests who would I have to give it to first? (Gadianzero 05:07, 22 January 2009 (EST))
You don't need the ring to complete the Museum quest. Steal it, give it to Ahjazda, then reacquire it. If I'm understanding you right... –RpehTCE 12:47, 22 January 2009 (EST)
Exactly, but you can't always reacquire it without killing Ahjazda. Though reacquiring it is not necessary, it's already been in the Museum, so you won't have to return it. SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 14:26, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
I've found that once my Mercantile skill reached 50, Ahjazda's Inventory expanded (as have all the other SI merchants'), and I was then able to buy it back from her and re-donate it (for free) to Una in the Museum. ComaDivine 06:54, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
yeah but has nobody thought this?just enchant a ring and name it aaa or someting like that she'll put on those rings and voala!--GUM!!! 18:45, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Calming Pants Question[edit]

If you decide to equip the Calming Pants, you are affected by a permenant spell effect, 'Extreme Calm'. Does anybody have any idea as to what this spell effect actually does? --Merco 11:16, 23 February 2008 (EST)

I'd like to know too. But no hurry... I'm feeling quite...relaxed. — Unsigned comment by 76.120.103.127 (talk)
The only command that gets run when you put on the pants is pme calm. Pme is a shortened form of PlayMagicEffectVisuals so all that the pants do is constantly play the effects for the Calm magic effect. Nothing more. –RpehTCE 03:12, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
Oh, and the spell effect isn't permanent. It only looks that way because the effect lingers when you take off the pants (that sounded weird), try opening and closing your journal once or twice, the spell will be gone. — Unsigned comment by 76.120.103.127 (talk) at 05:27 on July 2, 2008

There is no spoon ring.[edit]

I added a bug to the main page about the missing Ring of Desiccation. I tried a couple of reasonable things to get the Ring to re-appear "naturally", and wasn't able to find anything obvious. If anybody finds out that I'm wrong in thinking that this is a bug, and the ring does actually re-appear at some point, please remove my Bug entry and add a Note explaining how to get the ring to re-appear. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 00:56, 17 April 2008 (EDT)

Strange. I just tried it out, and she immediately replaced it in the case. I don't have the Unnofficial Patch, as I play on the XBox. I don't know what the problem might be. -Dan 9410 15:46, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Huh. That certainly is odd that she would return it for one but not the other. If I recall correctly, she walked up to the display case, but didn't actually do anything while there, and the ring never re-appeared. I'm not 100% sure of that any more, though; it's been a few days. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 16:56, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Wasn't fixed in the USIP as there is no spoon bug. I tried it both with the USIP and unmodded twice each and she does put the ring back in the display case where it can be stolen and given back to her again or used for the Coming Storm, so I think that this is a non-bug and needs to be removed from the main page. There is a bug (just wrote an e-mail to Robin Hood as the Wiki's having problems.) Was able to recreate this. It's the museum tour that bugs it all. I'm going to try this with numerous Oddities to see if it breaks putting them back in their cases or being able to give them to her. I'll update the main page when I have all the details. I'll change the existing bug description. Kivan 10:37, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
Ironically, as it's the only item needed for another quest, it seems that only the Ring of Desiccation will do this. I tried interrupting her tour and offering items stolen and new, and stealing them during the tour, and offering multiple items back, and asking for the tour while she was placing multiple items, and it was flawless, except for the Ring of Desiccation, which was easy to recreate the problem with. This is good as that's less work for me. :^) Kivan 11:51, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
I found the bug. It's in stage 5 of the quest. It will happen with all of the "original" three items (Ring, Gatekeeper Arm and Pygmy Skull):
; initialize quest variables
set SE38.itemA to 3
set SE38.itemB to 3
set SE38.itemC to 3
It does this without bothering to check if the player already stole one or more of them, so sets them to be "placed" when they aren't. So if the player already stole one, the state is reset and the player can no longer return it, and if she has the item and is currently returning it to its case (the var is 2) she won't. This will be a nice easy fix; just check if the static is disabled before setting the var or that it's not currently zero. Kivan 12:20, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
Excellent! Glad to hear that you got it. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 20:58, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
The reason she didn't replace the ring, on my game, was because i initiated the bug unawares, and left for a few days. upon returning the ring was not in the case, and, after looking this up and finding a solution of pickpocketing her, I checked, it was not there, so I saved and killed her, and the crafty lady had actually PUT THE RING ON! Being Sheogorath I summoned an army of hungers to tickle her until the ring popped out of her nose reverse-pick-pocketed a duplicate Ring of Lordship (all thanks to the scroll duplication glitch) onto her, waited a day, and checked the pockets of the now Yautja(Predator)-like Una for the ring. sure enough, she had it... now, I'm off to lounge in my calming pants and watch Jyggalag eat some clouds.... or was it clowns? — Unsigned comment by 174.131.9.135 (talk) at 10:32 on August 18, 2009

Tidy up notes[edit]

I feel that the notes section of this page should be tidied up as the part about the ring of desiccation is mentioned twice, from my own personal playing of the game it is possible to buy back the items straight away and donate the ring, where the npc acts confused as to why you have the ring and says that she will be unable to pay as she already has one but you are able to donate it for free if you want the museum to be complete or you just want that warm fuzzy feeling — Unsigned comment by Tosh (talkcontribs) at 23:47 on February 25, 2009

Yea, I unfortunately stole the ring... Didn't like it... gave it back... Why would I do this, no idea. The ring glitched its gone I don't know if she the museum of oddities owner is wearing it or not. I just know she didn't put that danged ring back! Now of course I realize That ring was actually needed for a quest *of course it was* That i would like to complete but cannot. Is their anyways to get the ring back? 67.142.167.28 04:21, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Telekinesis and timer[edit]

It is absolutely impossible to lit all 3 torches in 10 seconds (cause that's the timer duration) by simply grabbing the torch, you HAVE to use Telekinesis. Cause if you run, you drop the torch, but if you walk, you are too slow and one of the flames will go out before you lit the third. Telekinesis will not drop the torch if you run. In the end, I changed the timer duration to 15 seconds through scripts in the toolset. Alter the scripts SE11brazierTriggerSCRIPT, SE11brazierTrigger02SCRIPT, SE11brazierTrigger03SCRIPT, set the timer to 15. This will allow you to lit the torches even without telekinesis. WRFan 18:41, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I managed it perfectly in those 10 seconds without using Telekinesis, so that is simply not true. --Timenn-<talk> 11:06, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
I tried for an hour and it didn't work, so it is true. You can't run, because the pc drops the torch if you are simply grabbing it without telekinesis, and if you walk, the first lit fire will go out right before you reach the third one. Well, maybe you don't need 15 seconds, but 10 is not enough. Maybe 13 seconds would suffice. WRFan 15:26, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
I never had much problems with running while holding something. --Timenn-<talk> 12:30, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
WRFan, you might want to try and sneak-run. I had this same problem before, but if I entered sneak mode and then ran with the torch using the grab function, I could make it in ten seconds. 207.171.199.177 05:03, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Use a speed poion, i completed all torches while crouched and i didnt even realise it 69.245.35.75 14:46, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
I did it just fine. I think my Speed was around 60 or so and my Athletics wasn't bad either since I was moving pretty quick. Took me a couple of laps. -76.100.139.216 01:07, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

note merging[edit]

hi i was reading the notes and noteisd that two of the notes pretty much say the same thing so i'm going to try my hand at changeing them so they are a bit more udrstandable but if you change it i'm ok with that!--GUM!!! 20:15, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

I don't think they say exactly the same thing. One is making a mention of the fact while the second is using the prior note to reference it. I guess there could be a better way of stating it if you wanted to be picky, but I think it works right now. Elliot 20:25, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
oh sorry but i already did change it take a look at it and tell me what you think--GUM!!! 20:30, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Calming Pants bug[edit]

I'm playing oblivion on my XBOX 360. Didn't look this quest up and read the notes before I gave 5 sweetrolls. Now I am stuck with 5 pairs of pants...can't turn them in for the quest as I have too many and can't drop or sell them as they are quest items. Am I screwed or does anyone know a way to resolve this issue? — Unsigned comment by 68.169.155.102 (talk) on 21 May 2010

Found a way around this issue. Got sent to jail and when I looted my items from the chest at the end of the dungeon...Tada! The pants had been removed from my inventory (all 5 pairs). — Unsigned comment by 68.169.155.102 (talk) on 21 May 2010
That's one solution. Another would be to do the Sanguine quest, which also removes all your items. rpeh •TCE 09:21, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

getting arrested[edit]

i got arrested as king right before turned the quest in, i went with the guard and hoped to go to a duengon so i could get the ring back, nut i didnt. i then went to town and completed the quest with only the pants and amulet, should this go in the article? — Unsigned comment by Lindenbrock (talkcontribs) at 14:50 on December 27, 2010

buying back the quest items[edit]

i gave the items to her, then immediately bought back all of the items. except now they are still quest items with 0 weight and i can't drop them, anyone else have this problem? — Unsigned comment by 68.122.14.73 (talk) at 18:05 on June 14, 2011

This is not exactly a problem or glitch. I checked the scripts and I can't find any place that sets them as non-quest related items. If you are on console, you cannot do anything. On PC you can use the console command setquestitem [Item ID] 0. --DKong27 Talk Cont 23:22, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Ring Bug?[edit]

I've broken into the Museum of Oddities and I'm trying to steal the ring but it won't give me the option to steal it. I've also tried stealing it while she was giving me the tour. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? — Unsigned comment by 70.129.187.223 (talk) at 20:43 on January 14, 2013
