Plural of Elytra[edit]

... is Elytra? Just to answer a random question in an edit summary.... Scanning through the game dialogue shows many cases where "Elytra" is used as a plural noun. Conversely, I don't see any examples of "Elytras". So it looks like "Elytra" is both the singular and plural form of the noun. --NepheleTalk 03:59, 12 December 2007 (EST)

— Seems to me that Latin-originating nouns ending with “a” can sometimes be turned into plural with “æ” (ae). Alga → algæ, formula → formulæ, so Elytra → Elytræ seems legit. Fifis (talk) 15:27, 12 May 2013 (GMT)
