Chest[edit]

There is a locked chest situated at the south-east corner of the ruin exterior - inside the walls. Could somebody confirm and add it to the map and article? ComaDivine 06:29, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Done. Thanks! rpeh •TCE 11:45, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Before Quest[edit]

If you go there before the quest starts both doors are locked and guarded by Chuna (Golden Saint) and Vika (Dark Seducer) you can talk to them and provoke them after 3-4 times Vika will tell you to talk to Chuna. After 3-4 provokings Chuna will attack you causing Vika to unlock her gate and flee. If you kill Chuna you can get her Golden Mace. Killing Vika meens you can obtain her Dark Seducer Shield and Dark Longsword.

Not sure if this has any affect on the quest or anything else but it's pretty cool, no? — Unsigned comment by BlueNutmeg (talkcontribs) at 17:11 on 22 November 2010 (UTC)

I added some of the info on Chuna and Vika. The resr is covered in their individual pages.Sniffles 11:54, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't see how this is important enough to be included. Until the quest, you can't access the ruin's interior. That's the most important thing - people don't go to ruins to loiter around the exterior ;) --SerCenKing Talk 16:06, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
I did, as I have done with every exterior location in Oblivion. It's called enjoying the aesthetics and sometimes picking up tidbits of history the game designers went to a lot of trouble to include. The reason why Chuna and Vika are standing there prior to the quest. Sniffles 22:15, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Exterior section accuracy?[edit]

My first visit there during the quest showed the 4 named NPCs as it said, but no dark seducers (they were all inside the ruins) and only 5 anonymous golden saints instead of 9. Also no knight of order. I checked before the related quest and there were only 2 named NPCs and no anonymous golden saints or dark seducers. Is it a glitch on my end or is this information wrong? My only guess is that someone write 9 because after the original 5, 4 more spawn if you help the golden saints win, but I'm not too sure. I think the original 5 stay inside and pray and wander in there anyway. dtm 02:35, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Yes, those numbers are to do with the extra seducers or saints that get added once you help one side or the other in the quest. I'm not 100% on what the original five saints do, but from memory they should stay inside. I will make sure to check as soon as I can and edit the page accordingly. With regards to the Knight of Order, he is situated near the Obelisk at E. I have tweaked the section to reflect that and avoid confusion. --SerCenKing Talk 16:06, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Ok, there is no-one but Chuna and Vika pre-quest. There are 5 Saints at the beginning, then if you help the Saints 4 saints will be positioned outside post-quest. If you help the Seducers, there will be 4 of them outside post-quest. The Obelisk is also activate only post-quest. --SerCenKing Talk 12:58, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

no - the lede isn't for specific details[edit]

Could I get a little clarification here and maybe some concise examples?

  • Lede without any details: Xiditte, Milchar, Xaselm, Xavara, Xeddefen, etc.
  • Lede with present use info: Aichan, Corpserot Passage, Fain (includes specific details)
  • Lede with background information: Xedilian, Xirethard
  • Lede with significant specific details: Cann, Ebrocca, The Howling Halls
  • Nearly all camps have the lede and specific info glopped together and are marked for redesign.

So what would be a perfect example of a lede and where, if anywhere, would more specific details go instead?

(And why do I get logged out every 7 minutes?) (and forget to sign things?) Sniffles 02:38, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

The lead section for place pages is essentially made up of two parts. In 90% of pages (basically anything outside the SI namespace) you will get info that was previously in the /description pages. That is: where the place is, who inhabits it, whether it is quest-related and its various zones. That is enough for pages that do not have any significant lore to them. For some SI pages, Lore pages also exist (e.g. Cylarne, Vitharn, The Howling Halls...) because there is sufficient information for it. In this case, we add a second paragraph with brief extracts from the Lore page to give a wider sense of context. That is why the lead section will differ from place to place. --SerCenKing Talk 12:58, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Your clarification-rewrite of the Exterior is nicely done. For the sake of clarity it could still use some mention that the central courtyard is always accessible. Such as in the notes +(Only the central courtyard of) This ruin is -(in)accessible until you have begun the related quest. The reason being the game designers deliberately placed Chuna and Vika there to give the PC a _wider sense of context_.
Thanx for clarifying the lede format. That, with all the varying page examples, was very confusing. — Unsigned comment by Sniffles (talkcontribs) at 23:41 on 24 September 2011 (UTC)
