Scripted to die?[edit]

i she scripted to die when jyggalag does that explosion thing when you kill him or does she just disappear after the quest? — Unsigned comment by 72.57.25.176 (talk) at 07:25 on 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Neither. If you avoid Autkendo Jansa in the palace and face Jyggalag without talking with her at all after her messenger tells you she wants to speak with you, she and her companions will be alive and waiting for you when you return to the throne room, at which point they will rush outside only to find an already-ended battle. I haven't checked anything via the Construction Set (I don't currently have it installed), but Jansa's behavior when she lives after the battle makes me suspect that she is not intended to do so. She and her companions seem to just stand there in the courtyard indefinitely, with weapons drawn. I killed one of the companions in front of not only those Mazken, but an Aureal on patrol and none of them took the slightest interest except that the one under attack healed herself. She didn't even defend herself. I took a few swings at Jansa and everyone's reactions were the same. Only when I attacked the Aureal on patrol did she approach me about a "misunderstanding". It seems to me then that those Mazken, including Jansa, are probably intended to die in the battle. Strangely, though, I played the battle several times and once or twice I couldn't find Jansa afterward, living or dead. I have definitely found her among the dead sometimes, but not always.
