Race?[edit]

Whatever Riparius is, its certainly not a Dremora. His skin is wildly different, the only similarity is the horns on his chin. Judging from the eyes its definitely asset re-use from an elven race, but he's way too different for us to categorize as an elf as he's 100% a Daedra. Him and Fa-Nuit-Hen have unique models that (as far as I know) no one else shares. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 02:19, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

For cases like this fellow, Fa-Nuit-Hen, and Baron Zaudrus, we should probably opt not to display their race at all if we're not going to accurately describe Fa-Nuit-Hen's race as Bosmer or Zaudrus's race as Nord. It's definitely preferable to moving lorespace information into gamespace in which it makes no sense, or outright fabricating as in this case. — J. J. Fullerton talk﴿ 05:28, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
A generic "Daedra" race should probably suffice for these characters. —Legoless (talk) 08:41, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
At the point of labelling their race as "Daedra", we would be for all intents and purposes admitting we don't have game information (i.e. information that belongs in gamespace) on their races. That leads me back to my suggestion: not to display any race at all, if we're not going to use the models upon which these characters' appearances are based (e.g. Bosmer for FNH, Nord for BZ). — J. Not displaying race at all isn't an option. The alternatives are better than nothing, but I think we should keep exploring options. I don't mind the Special Creatures thing that Morrowind has going on, I think we could use it for Hircine (who does not use a humanoid skeleton or a minotaur skeleton, but rather his own rig altogether) for sure, for these guys like Riparius whatever Morrowind:Vivec (god) has going on might be ideal but it would mean introducing a new column most likely. To be consistent, we could categorise his race as "Tutor Riparius". Personally I think a descriptive approach would work better—after all, racial categories in ESOspace are more prescriptive than technical. —Legoless (talk) 09:52, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
To be "descriptive" is a tacit admission that the "race" field in Online space is lore information and not gameplay information. Describing unique models by the names of those using them is a solution, yes, but "race=no" or "race=unique" without displaying a race in the infobox should be considered. — J. J. I think we should pull an Online:Molag Bal and put "Tutor Riparius" as his race. He is most certainly not something we've seen before. -MolagBallet (talk) 22:31, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
