Tof is a Nord who can be found talking with Grig outside of the Bards College in Solitude.

Dialogue[edit]

Their conversation will depend on your progression through the story line of the Greymoor chapter.

Before The Gathering Storm is completed, they will discuss recent disappearances in the area:

Tof: "Shor's bones, it gets worse each day. My mother's cousin says her neighbor's disappeared."
Grig: "Everyone has a story of someone going missing. Are any of them true?"

Tof will warn you about it, seeing that you are not from around there:

"You're not from around here, are you? Pardon my rudeness, but there's been talk of strange travelers in the wilderness. People disappearing from their homes.
You can never be too careful, especially around outsiders."

After completing The Gathering Storm, they will talk about Kilkreath Temple:

Tof: "They say that anyone not killed by the storm at Kilkreath turned into a monster."
Grig: "Worse than that, if they weren't killed or turned into a monster, they became mindless zombies!"

When spoken to Tof will say:

"That storm we saw over Kilkreath, it wasn't natural! It was like something out of a nightmare!"

While hunting the assassin which escaped the Blue Palace during Dark Clouds Over Solitude, Tof and Grig may appear:

Tof: "Assassin! Murderer! He's loose in the city!
Grig: "Shor's bones, where are the guards?"

Tof will be disbelieving when spoken to:

"Assassins in the city? How could this happen?"

After starting Danger in the Holds, Tof and Grig will mourn the death of Queen Gerhyld:

Tof: "Assassins tried to kill the high king! They murdered Queen Gerhyld!"
Grig: "Our poor high king must be devastated. The princess, too. What a sad day."

He will want you to confirm the story:

"Queen Gerhyld, dead? Is it true? Oh, these are dark days, indeed."

After Svana has spoken with the leaders of the other holds, the pair will discuss what they heard happened:

Tof: "It's true, the Reach attacked Morthal! The jarl's soldiers put a stop to it, as I understand it."
Grig: "That's nothing! I heard something happened in Karthald. Karthwatch was destroyed!"

He will approve of Jarl Reddharn:

"The Jarl of Morthal is a tough old goat. At least we can count on him to give the high king a kick in the arse."

After the revelations of The Gray Host:

Tof: "First he hid in that ghastly Tower of the Wolf. Now I hear the high king has fled the city."
Grig: "That can't be true! High King Svargrim would never abandon us! Would he?"

He sounds despondent.

"What has happened to our city? Our kingdom? Has the high king truly abandoned us?"

Once you have prevented the harrowstorm killing everyone in Solitude during Greymoor Rising, the pair will talk about it:

Tof: "Is the storm over? Are we safe? And did you see how much damage the Tower of the Wolf sustained?"
Grig: "Everything will be all right. The princess and her allies stopped the harrowstorm and killed the treacherous high king."

Tof will thank you:

"You! I've seen you with Princess Svana. You and the princess saved us! Thank you, traveler."

After Daughter of the Wolf:

Tof: "Iceheels walking the streets of Solitude? What's our hold coming to?"
Grig: "Quiet, you! Princess Svana and her allies saved us all—and one of them was an eastern half-giant!"

He thanks you for your valiant efforts.

"So much has happened here, but Solitude still stands. And we have the princess to thank for that. And you.
I heard the Skald-King sent help, too. I don't trust him, but I suppose we should be grateful."
