Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Speak to Urgarlag Chief-bane to get the details of this quest.

What's the pledge today?
"The White-Gold Tower! The hordes of Molag Bal took it in their invasion of Imperial City. They mock us from the Ruby Throne! Toss those damn Daedra out from the highest window and put the Empire back in mortal hands!"
And if I can handle more?
"That's the right attitude! Don't just defeat them. Crush them!
Read the Obelisk Tome. Bless them with Molag Bal's might. Then butcher the Xivkyn Sovereign and her minions. Prince of Domination my arse!"
I pledge to seek out the White-Gold Tower and return Undaunted.

Once you have accepted the quest, you can enter the White-Gold Tower dungeon either by accessing the dungeon through the Dungeon Finder, or heading to Imperial City and entering the dungeon there with a group. You have the choice of entering the normal dungeon or the veteran version, this choice will affect if you can achieve the optional step and your rewards.

When inside the dungeon, you will need to progress through the dungeon, slaying the following bosses, the Adjudicator, the the Planar Inhibitor and Molag Kena. With the last boss, if you are in the veteran dungeon, you have the option of completing the ritual listed in the Obelisk Tome to put the boss in hard mode.

When returning after completing the pledge:

"I expected to hear the White-Gold Tower topple from here. I suppose you'll tell me you left it standing."
I did, but I've ousted the imposter Empress Regent.
"Then I suppose I'll forgive you. Would have made for a better story my way."
So am I worthy of a reward?
Condition Dialogue
Normal mode completed "The Daedra will be back, I'm sure. Whether they bring a pretend empress again is anyone's guess. For now, victory!
Claim your key and your cut. Tomorrow we can take bets on who'll sit on the Ruby Throne."
Veteran / Hard Mode completed "If the Ruby Throne wasn't really red, it had better be now — or whatever color the Daedric imposter bled. You get the idea.
Have your key and your cut. Tomorrow there'll be more carnage. Promise."

  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
