Nellic Sterone

Nellic Sterone is a Breton scholar who spends his time studying goblins.

He can be found overlooking the Stonechewer Goblin Camp near Wayrest and observing the goblins there. He appears to have an obsession with them, saying that they are misunderstood and constantly mentioning his desires to live among them.

When you first meet him, he will warn you of the Shaman who likes to play nasty tricks on people and transform them into other things.

Dialogue[edit]

When Nellic is first approached:

"So many tribes gone from High Rock—the Ratfarmers, the Throatcutters, even the famous Disembowelers. The Stonechewers are really the last of the breed."

Alternatively:

"The Stonechewer's breeding stock has been badly depleted by this foolish conflict. Leave me alone to contemplate this tragedy in solemn silence."
Any idea where I should return this totem to the Goblins?
"Search the caves. The totem needs to be restored to the Goblins' shrine.
If a shaman sees you, expect some kind of trouble. One of them knows a shape-changing spell—and he's got a wicked sense of humor."
Are you studying those Goblins?
"Indeed. Look how busy they are—carving femur flutes, skinning durzog puppies, disciplining their females. So misunderstood. Like us, yet unlike. The Goblins live in a world apart, one I may never enter.
I can only dream."

His dialogue changes if he is spoken to while shape-shifted into a Goblin.

"Hmm. Aren't you a peculiar specimen...?
Wait a minute. You're not a Goblin! I know Goblins inside and out, and you're no Goblin. You're the one from the Watch!
The shaman cast a spell on me.
Fascinating. It must be simply fascinating. It's something I've always dreamed of.
It's really not fair that this happened to you. You're no Goblin scholar. It should've been me."

After A Means to an End is completed:

"If only more people were aware of the Goblins' rich cultural heritage, perhaps they wouldn't be so persecuted.
Plus, the females are kind of cute. In a way."
