Mercenary Veteran (Knight)

Mercenary Veterans are Orcs encountered throughout Wrothgar and the Reach. Defeating one of them in combat will grant you the One Last Brawl achievement.

When they reach approximately 1000 Health, they will stop fighting, bow their heads and wait for you to land the killing blow. You must kill them to receive the achievement; bringing their health down to the point where they cease fighting will not count towards achievement progress.

There are three different kinds of Mercenary Veterans: one with heavy armor bearing a sword and shield, one in medium armor wielding a single sword, and and one in medium armor wielding dual-weapons.

• West of Vateshran Hollows.
• Northeast of Black-Moon Clan Camp

Dialogue

They will repeatedly taunt you, saying:

"They say you can give me a good death."

"They say you can give a good death!"

"You! Fight me!"

"Are you a coward"

"You don't have the guts!"

"Every tale they tell of you is a lie!"

"You there! I challenge you!"

"Think you can grant me a good death, worm?"

"Fight me, you tusking coward!"

"Tusking weakling!"

"Time to prove your worth!"

"Too scared you'll lose?"

"You! Stand and fight!"

"Will you not stand and fight?"

"Face me!"

"Don't deny me a good death!"

"I'm too much for you. I see that now!"

"You there! I challenge you!"

"I shall not be denied a good death!"

"You are my opponent?"

"You must be afraid to die by my hand!"

Achievements

There is one Achievement associated with this enemy:

Notes

• They can be found with a number of dead bodies around them (including snow bears), which will despawn after you kill them.
• Mercenary Veterans defeated in The Reach count towards the completion of One Last Brawl achivement.
