Gluthogna

Gluthogna is an Orc travelling around Summerset. She'll tell you how she crossed paths with an Altmeri woman riding her horse. Now the Noble is accusing her of causing the accident. If you have the Persuasive Will perk from the Mages Guild line, you can convince her to be the "cooler head".

Dialogue

As you approach the two, you'll hear the following:

Gluthogna : "Look, I apologized. And then I apologized again. What more do you want from me?"

Noble : "I am a Kinlady of Summerset, and you dare address me as though I were one of you common rabble!"

Gluthogna : "Don't you think you're taking things a little personally? Let's just go about our own business."

Noble : "How dare you talk to me as equals! Anything less than groveling, on your knees, is an insult!"

If you speak to Gluthogna, she'll say one of two greetings:

"The Elf thinks she can talk down to me as long as she's smiling. But she's just showing me which teeth to knock out first."

Or…

"These Elves act like their smallclothes are seven sizes too small. Any little thing sends them over the edge!"

What's going on?

"I was on my way to Lillandril when I see the kinlady riding her horse like a dragon was on her tail.
Her horse got spooked as we were about to cross paths. Threw her from the saddle and bolted. Now it's my fault, I guess?"

Have you gone looking for it?

"Sounds like the reasonable thing to do, doesn't it? Oh no, but she'd rather berate me.
I'm old enough to know that when a brat throws a tantrum, you just be patient. But she'd put any toddler to shame with this performance."

[Persuade] Be the cooler head. If you do as she asks you can put this whole affair behind you.

"It was an accident …! Fine. If this is how they do things in Elf-land, I'll swallow my pride and be done with it."

If you were able to persuade Gluthogna to take the blame, you'll hear:

Gluthogna : "Please, uh, forgive me. My lady. Uh, I mean, my kinlady. It was my fault."

Noble : "Is that the best you can muster? I suppose it is. Very well, now get out of my sight before I change my mind."

If you intimidate the Noble, she'll only say:

Noble : "I'll grant you a reprieve, Orc. This time. Be on your way."

Speaking to her if you found and soothed the noble's horse:

"Glad the horse is all right. Though knowing its owner, I don't know how long that'll be the case."
