Locked gate?

For Me, When I entered Varondo, A gate seprated it from the entrance to Varondo Varlasel and the gate can only be opened by a key, this made me think - Is this Ayleid Ruin part of some sort of quest? 89.0.178.147 17:53, 6 January 2007 (EST)

"Guardians of Oblivion" Reference

Where is the reference to "Guardians of Oblivion" from? For some reason I think those are modified conjurers added by Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. No? --Dev akm 16:41, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Sounds very likely. I can't find any reference to "Guardians of Oblivion" in the standard game and I can't see anything special about the conjurers in Varondo... they're all just generated using standard leveled lists. Unable to complete Varondo

I spent a good 3 hours going through the entirety of Varondo. I can't find the key that's suppose to open the gate to the last door of Varondo where the Varla stones are located.

I've combed the entire accessible ruins with light and night-eye to try and see if I missed any chests, I also used detect life to see if I had missed any sort of person or thing that may be carrying it.

No Key.

No Unlocked Gate.

No Finished Varondo.

There is no key to open either of the gates. The one by the front door (at the north end of Varondo) is the one that you'll come back through; you can't open it until you've been through the rest of the dungeon. For the one at the south end of the dungeon, you just stand on the activation plate (the square stone on the floor right in front of it), and that opens the gate. --Nephele^Talk 22:02, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

Reference to Varondo In Letter

Not really. There is no reference to Varondo in any book in the game. And there aren't even any letters on the counter of the First Edition, so I can't even start to guess what you might be thinking of. --Nephele^Talk 12:00, 7 March 2008 (EST)

Conjurer slain by a dremora kynval

In Varondo Varlasel, the third zone, i noticed while clearing the zone a weird dremora already injured. After a while in the next room i also found a dead conjurer (of course slain by the injured dremora aforementioned). Are not supposed conjurers and daedra to have high levels of friendship? Or am i missing some sort of exceptions to these relationships?
