Miscarcand[edit]

I deleted Miscarand. Apparently it was here because it contains a "Vampire Boss Chest". Unless the chest contains an actual vampire it shouldn't be listed on a page about Vampire dungeons. It's misleading and counter-intuitive. 68.166.172.55 08:20, 18 September 2008 (EDT)

And I reinstated it. The page is about more than just what creatures may be encountered, it's also about the types of treasure that may be obtained. Vampire Boss Chest is a specific type of chest that holds a specific list of treasure and this page should list all the locations in which one may be found. –RpehTCE 08:59, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
I'm deleting it again. The name of the page says it all. "Vampire Dungeons", not "Dungeons which contain things that have vampire in the title". Miscarand is not a Vampire Dungeon, therefore it doesn't belong here. I could see if a "Vampire Boss Chest" contained something related to vampires but it doesn't. As far as I can tell it's the only entry in the page that doesn't have vampires in it. People will go to Miscarand looking to hunt vampires and I doubt they'll be satisfied with something that they don't even know is called a "Vampire Boss Chest". I see your name on the talk pages all the time so I know you put alot of effort into this place and I thank you, but use common sense. Why don't you make a seperate section on the page about Vampire Boss Chests? 68.166.172.55 19:34, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
Why would people "go to Miscarand looking to hunt vampires" when it states plainly on the page that it contains "0" Vampires and "0" Vampire Bosses? I've reinstated it because any page that discusses Vampire containers links to this page, and so this page should list all places that contain Vampire containers. --GuildKnightTalk2me 23:04, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
I came to this page because someone had asked why there were no vampires at Miscarand when it was listed under Vampire Dungeons and recalled I had done the same thing. Most people aren't going to look to see how many vampires are listed, they're just going to assume to places listed under vampire dungeons are... vampire dungeons. I understand that vampire containers should link to the vampire dungeons page but that's because vampire containers are generally found in... vampire dungeons. Do you honestly think anyone is going to be looking on this page to find out where all the "Vampire Boss Chests" are? Not even the real wikipedia is this hard-headed and pedantic. 68.166.172.55 23:51, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
I really feel that it is necessary to include Miscarcand in this article. To leave it out is inaccurate, and this page is no exception to the way we have our dungeon pages set up - there are, for instance, a few Bandit Dungeons that do not contain any Bandits. I have added an explanatory section to the top of the page. Would you agree to Miscarcand being added back now that there is a notice at the top that some may not contain vampires? --GuildKnightTalk2me 00:14, 19 September 2008 (EDT)
To answer the OP's two points: First, If somebody doesn't look a the numbers then that's their problem and not ours. Second, Yes I do think people will be looking at this page to find the locations of certain containers. In this case, the chest is a boss Ayleid Reliquary - one of only two in existence - and has a 1 in 4 chance of an enchanted weapon among other possibilities. That's a great chance compared to many others - conjurer and necromancer containers have only a 10% chance.
GK's addition is a good idea and makes things much clearer. I've put the Miscarcand data back without waiting for a response because it's necessary to the page. There are similar cases in the Shivering Isles dungeons too. Please don't delete it again. –RpehTCE 01:02, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

I guess the qualifier at the top of the page is fair, but as far as the point about it not being your problem, the point of this page and site is to inform people, not to entertain yourself and rule with an iron fist, so if it misleads the reader it is your problem because you're not doing your "job". If people are looking for certain containers they would go to the containers page, not here. I would argue that the site's whole attitude toward containers is flawed because their is a page dedicated to containers so it's unnecessary link pages that aren't really related. Common sense says bandit dungeons should contain bandits and vampire dungeons should contain vampires. 68.166.172.55 18:21, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

Can I suggest instead that we either put a * directly after the name Miscarcand and then footnote the absence of Vampires at the bottom or that we move it to the bottom of the list with a note directly in the entry (and perhaps a different background colour or other separator as well)? Honestly, I have to agree with our anonymous poster that Miscarcand isn't a vampire dungeon, and therefore doesn't belong on this page, even if it contains a vampire boss chest. But at the same time, I can see the opposing point of view as well, and am certainly not going to say it should be entirely removed. With nothing to distinguish it explicitly, I know if I were looking for vampire dungeons, I'd almost certainly have fallen prey to the same mistake that the OP did. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 16:36, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

Sundercliff Watch[edit]

There are a number of vampires in and outside the Ayleid ruin in Sundercliff watch (with the Mehrune's Razor plug-in of course), thought it was well worth mentioning as no one as submitted any information on it and I made quite a bit of gold selling the dust from said vampires to the Order of the Virtuous blood.Lucife Decon

I added it to the page. Kitkat1749 TalkContribE-mail 23:11, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

YAY! I actually had some worthy advice that was added to the page lolLucife Decon

Can somebody with a CS add the relevant information when you get around to it? Thanks. Kitkat1749 TalkContribE-mail 23:32, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I think I've got them right. Well spotted, LD. rpeh •TCE 09:42, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
