Stub fix[edit]

Thanks guys, I wander off to the pub for lunch and all the other work I had planned to tweak my initial fixes gets done! woohoo! :D ta! --MacFodder 01:00, 8 February 2007 (EST)

Ghost Class[edit]

I was just wondering, is there a specific class, or faction that is given to ghost NPCs? Or are they just normal NPCs with a special effect added, like vampires? --Merco 16:03, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

The Forlorn Watchman is of the Warrior class and of the CreatureFaction. However, I don't know exactly know how they made him ghost-like. Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 18:18, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

That's not particularly helpful... --Merco 12:12, 19 March 2008 (EDT)

Merco: you asked a question, and Michaeldsuarez was good enough to take the time to try to answer that question. Despite the fact that the question you asked is already answered right on the NPC page. We're all volunteers here; we're not paid or in any rewarded for answering your questions. So the least you could do is try to be appreciative of the fact that someone tried to your answer your question, instead of just complaining that you don't like the answer. --NepheleTalk 12:50, 19 March 2008 (EDT)
Sorry about that, Merco. Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 21:43, 19 March 2008 (EDT)
Might just be a simple case of miscommunication here. Michealdsuarez's reply says, in part, "...However, I know exactly know how they made him ghost-like." Now, if this isn't a typographical error (and I have every reason to believe that is is just a mistake), I can see how Merco might think this wasn't helpful. If you know how they make Blakely ghost-like, we'd all be curious to learn that ourselves. —Dark Spark 02:21, 20 March 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, I corrected that sentence. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 17:59, 20 March 2008 (EDT)

Thanks, it's all cleared up now. --Merco 13:54, 21 March 2008 (EDT)

I believe the Ghost effect comes from the magic effect 'AbGhostNPC', which may be found in the construction set. If this is right, then if you add this effect to any NPC they will become a ghost. I haven't tested this, so I may be wrong. 81.131.230.246 23:02, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Tested by adding power to Armand Christophe: it turns the character into a ghost, and could be applied to the player if required. 81.131.230.246 23:07, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Possible Easter Egg?[edit]

Just wandering if the developer was an Iron Maiden fan, as the watchman himself is "The Ghost of the Navigator" — Unsigned comment by 81.96.106.130 (talk) at 21:56 on 13 September 2010

If it's just the name, then we can't say anything with any certainty. If there are other clear references to the lyrics of the song, then we can probably put something to that effect on the page. The similarities in concept certainly make it plausible, but we need more evidence to be sure. Robin Hoodtalk 22:57, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

ghost effect[edit]

Should we open a new page that list all the people marked as ghost (Vvardfell 12:04, 17 October 2010 (UTC))

I don't think this is hard to do, but will it benefit anything? --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 12:13, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
No, just want to make the page more perfect(Vvardfell 12:56, 17 October 2010 (UTC))
While it's always nice to have categories for things, the question, as Rigas pointed out, is really: How would it help someone looking at the site to have a list of all the ghosts? If there's a way in which it would help, then we should add it; if there isn't, then the page description is probably sufficient. Robin Hoodtalk 06:40, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Merge Page[edit]

Should this page and Oblivion:Grantham Blakeley be merged? They have mostly the same info, and it would be neater to have both NPCs on the one article. Legoless 15:38, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

I think that would be a good idea. Grantham Blakeley could stay as a redirect, and the info would be merged. --DKong27 Talk Cont 21:03, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I thought I'd bring this up again, in the hope of getting some feedback and suggestions about how the merge should be handled. Seeing as how the two NPCs have different stats, I think it would be beneficial to have a separate summary box for each. I'm also unsure about what article name it should be moved to, although I'm leaning towards using this one. Obviously this is a bit messy, and I can see why they have been left separate, but it seems rather nonsensical to have two articles on (basically) the same subject. I'd be grateful if a more experienced editor would take a look at this. --Legoless 14:08, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
It will end up rather big, maybe even confusing, especially with two NPC summaries. The Grantham page is a good place to put the whole background story about the Emma May, while the ghost page concentrates on the rumors and whereabouts of the Niben Bay ghost. Nevertheless, it may be worth a shot at some point. What we really need is an Emma May page. --Krusty 14:27, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
Would it have its own page, or should it be included on Oblivion:The Mouth of the Panther? --Legoless 14:29, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
I'd say it should have its own page; it will not be as big as The Marie Helena or Sea Tub Clarabella, but it contains four zones and several containers (including a few chests) so, with a bit of rambling and a few images, an Emma May page is the way to go. --Krusty 14:36, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
