Gray Cowl Dialogue[edit]

(moved from the article)

Strangely, when you wear the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, she says to you, "You're the Gray Fox! Thank you for everything you have done to help us in the Waterfront!"

I've moved that off because it doesn't seem possible to me. To get that line of dialogue:

  • The NPC must be in the ICWaterfrontResident faction
  • The NPC must not be a guard
  • The player must be wearing the Gray Cowl
  • The NPC must be talking to the player

Now quite clearly the first of those isn't true. with Sister Angrond unless a mod has added her to that faction. This may have been a one-off glitch. In any case, it shouldn't be on the article. –RpehTCE 12:00, 27 May 2008 (EDT)

Two-off glitch, actually; Elsynia said the same thing for me. I think it may be that with all Bosmer females or all Elf females.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 23:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Not in dialogue, nor is she in the IC faction--Corevette789 23:42, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Yes I know, but the one diolouge "Thanks for all the help youve done in the waterfront" could have overridden the normal one, or somethin'... I'm asking for an In-Game check.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 00:46, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

() Okay, I think it's time to make a deeper research into this because I've just been having some strange ocurrences while wearing the cowl. It would seem that the subtitles and the voice records for all the female elves is messed up, here is what I've been experimenting:

  • While wearing the cowl in the Waterfront I encountered some strange behavior from both Methredhel and Carwen. While the subtitles merely read "You're the Gray Fox!" they instead said "You're the Gray Fox! Please don't hurt me!". Also, when the subtitles read "You're the Gray Fox! Please don't hurt me!", they instead delivered a common greeting line such as "It's you. Hi."
  • After I started witnessing this strange behavior I decided to do some further testing. This time I went to the Temple of the One to see how Tandilwe reacted. To my surprise, while the subtitles read "You're the Gray Fox!" she instead delivered the line "You're the Gray Fox. Thank you for everything you've done to help us here in the Waterfront."
  • After witnessing even more oddities, I decided to check with another elven TG member to see if somehow the dialogue lines have been swaped. This time it was with Mandil, and as I suspected she behave just exactly like Methredhel and Carwen.
  • To finally make sure if this only happened with female elven IC citizens I decided to try it out with someone outside of the IC. This time it was Aryarie who showed a similar behavior to Tandilwe's.

Now, with all of this proof I think it's safe to assume that something is wrong with female elven dialogues, so this may require further bit of CS check (and probably more in-game testing). --S'drassa T2M 18:59, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
