Armor rating[edit]

One thing that's not made clear in the article is how a shield spell affects your armor rating as a numerical value. For instance, what would your armor rating be if you were unarmored and cast a Shield 50% spell? A Shield 85% spell? A Shield 1% spell? --TennysonXII 11:14, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out the problem with the article. I've tried adding an example to the page: does that answer your question? --NepheleTalk 15:58, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely, thank you. --TennysonXII 23:21, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Value of the Shield[edit]

You don't seem to specify precisely what shield prevents against, ie, armed attack and/or spells cast on you. Could you clarify the value the shield. I have 82 strength 84 endurance 44 willpower....Umbra, Enchanted Glasssword 20 pts Fire, fire staff....When I up my shield from 69 to near 85 with a short-lived Shield spell (30%)..I'm still having great difficulty conquering spellcasters and creatures..difficulty is up a notch or two for the game. In short, confused about what Shield actually does vis-a-vis attackers. Thanks 71.126.103.253 22:34, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Shield increases Armor rating, that's what it does. I believe your question will be answered if you click the Armor Rating link to see how that affects your character. 98.66.203.236 06:44, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

100% shield[edit]

can you combine a 50% frost or fire shield with a 50% of the other to achieve 100% or does it still stop at 85%? id check but i dont know how to see the armor rating with shield (Eddie the head 12:46, 20 June 2011 (UTC))

"Armor Rating is capped at 85%, and cannot go higher." no matter what. You can see your current armor rating by looking in the items menu at the bottom middle (the value beside the shield icon) 98.66.203.236 06:41, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
