Giant Mudcrab[edit]

Does the giant mudcrab respawn? — Unsigned comment by 71.126.103.208 (talk)

It looks like it does, yes. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 16:43, 29 July 2008 (EDT)

Giant Mudcrab - take it home?[edit]

OK, before I try this on my 360, has anyone tried taking the Giant Mudcrab home with them via Command Creature? ~~~~

You could do that, but it would cost alot of magicka and if the spell duration ran out in the middle of the street the guards would kill it. --Arch-Mage Matt 01:24, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Moved from Article[edit]

The GOTY Edition seems to have a bug as there is no entrance to the small room on the right of the map either above or under the water. If your character is positioned at the entrance shown on the map, right (east) side of the first room, only a faint blue glow appears in a solid wall. It is possible to swim under the north wall into the third room and loot the underwater chest but not to reach the upper level from there either.

I moved this from the article until someone can verify it. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 18:06, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Starting from the door, drop into the water and head east. You'll find an underwater passageway in the east wall. Go through that and keep going - you'll reach the eastern chamber in no time. rpeh •TCE 19:28, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
I have notice this underwater passage can cause problems for follower. They struggle to navigate the passage and they drown, but if they are essential they just keep on drowning. One solution I did find to set them back on track (if anyone else stumbles across this problem_ is to hit them with a spell, this should get them to follow you (However they may turn hostile). --Manic 16:57, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

More enemies spawning on the way out?[edit]

I was pretty sure I cleared all three zones on the way in, but when I returned from Zone 3 to Zone 2, there were two more enemies that weren't there before. They were in the southwest and southeast rooms, and were Ogres for me. Similarly, when I went back to Zone 1, there was a Rat and an Ogre that weren't there before.

This might be the standard behavior of the "maybe" enemies - in other words, maybe they always have a chance to spawn in no matter whether you're entering the zone for the first time or not. But I also feel like they might be tied to entering zone 3, or opening the boss chest, or killing the giant Mud Crab, or similar, so you get them on your way back out. If there is evidence (CS?) that something special happens to spawn these enemies in, it would be good to put it in the article. 73.3.58.200 10:41, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

I've noticed similar occurrences in other dungeons as well; it's not unique to this cave, so I doubt it has anything to do with the boss chest or the Giant Mud Crab. Although I have no way to verify it, I believe your first guess is correct: it's likely the game re-checks for "optional" enemies which haven't spawned already each time you enter a zone. — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:41, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
I've had this happen in other dungeons as well, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it documented in the articles here for at least a couple of dungeons. Maybe it can happen in most dungeons, and the authors/editors just noted it in some articles but not others. 73.3.58.200 05:06, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
I can't recall seeing any dungeon articles mentioning this behaviour specifically (which doesn't mean they don't exist, of course). If it is a general behaviour related to the "optional" monsters, I don't think it needs to be noted on every dungeon page where it may occur; a mention of the possibility on a page such as Dungeons should suffice. — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:33, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Yes, it has to do with the 50% spawning enemies. Leave and re-enter to make the remaining enemies respawn. --C0rTeZ48 (talk) 10:08, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
