Boss loot[edit]

Outdoors, on the second floor there is a chest with good (random) loot.Is that a boss chest or what? --80.244.69.13 17:32, 28 June 2007 (EDT)

Nope, it's not a boss chest. As the now-revamped page says, it's just a standard chest, specifically a Monster Dungeon variety "Chest 01". However, Monster Dungeon chests do contain relatively good loot compared to the generic chests in other types of dungeons. --NepheleTalk 20:14, 28 June 2007 (EDT)

Will-o-the Wisp[edit]

Should it be noted that there are two Will-o-the-Wisps guarding the entrance? I don't know if this is standard or if the creatures are randomly generated. — Unsigned comment by 84.45.156.179 (talk) at 19:46 on 6 January 2008

The will-o-the-wisps outside are random, aren't even guaranteed to be there, and they're already mentioned in the article: "0-2 Monsters are near the entrance" (in the Outside section). I'm not sure that there's much more that acurately be said. --NepheleTalk 16:40, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Treasure Under the Stairs?[edit]

Maybe it's just me, but I did not find the Absorb Skill: Blade scroll mentioned in the Exterior section. After reading about it here I went back to check and did not see it there. So either it isn't, or I missed it. Anyone? - Material 00:26, 30 March 2009 (EDT)

Just checked and it's definitely there, but you'll need to use telekinesis as it's impossible to squeeze in and reach it. Having also looked in the CS, it's possible that it starts out embedded in the ground and it's just my UOPed game that pops it out. But it's still there. –RpehTCE 00:42, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
Thanks. I haven't patched yet, and I guess I should. - Material 15:52, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
OK, hang on. Now that I've read some of the Wiki rules, shouldn't we mention that the scroll may not be visible in unpatched iterations of the game? - Material 21:08, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
No. It needs checking. Saying "may" isn't helpful. I'll try to take an unpatched look later. –RpehTCE 03:04, 31 March 2009 (EDT)

() I am fully patched, and there is no chest under the stairs. If you turn collision off and dive under the ground texture, there are two bottles of ale, a skull and the scroll, but no chest. Phelaran 17:50, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

At the very least shouldn't the info be added to the wiki that you will need to use telekinesis to reach the scroll under the stairs? Rawket 08:16, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Actually, you can't reach it even with telekinesis. I just checked in a totally vanilla game; a fully-patched but no UOP game and lastly, a UOP game. In the first two, the scroll is underground and can't be reached. I've added a note to the page. rpeh •TCE 10:52, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Barrel[edit]

Are Barrels not worthy of inclusion, or maybe the barrel next to the chest does not show up for others? It contained Alkanet Flower and two other ingredients, presumably random. In case it matters: the character is level seven, and 93 Alchemy. Anarchangel 16:30, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Barrels, sacks and other containers that only hold common ingredients and clutter aren't usually included in the maps and walkthroughs. --SerCenKing Talk 18:54, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Spriggans at Level 10?[edit]

I just finished clearing Fort Empire and ran into two Spriggans as the boss monsters, which puzzles me because my character is only level 10. According to the Creatures page, Spriggans are level 13, which means they can start appearing as boss monsters two levels lower at character level 11. They shouldn't be appearing at level 10, from everything I've read, yet there they were, flower garlands and all. Not that they were difficult to deal with; my character is far under-leveled for her abilities, and a couple of well-placed fireballs while hiding in the shadows put them down without a fuss. It just came as a surprise to find them there.

I double-checked my level to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering, and I haven't seen any spriggans along the roads, where they can also appear at level 11. This is the first time I've seen them. I am running with UOP v3.5.6b, but I don't see anything in the patch notes that would account for this. Are the monsters in this dungeon based on clvl+1, by chance? Normally, I see trolls and imps in monster dungeons at my level, but here it was exclusively trolls and the two spriggans. Anyone have an explanation so I don't lie awake every night wondering? :P — Wolfborn(Howl) 08:29, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Nevermind, found it. Apparently Spriggans are an exception to the rule and can appear as bosses three levels lower than usual. Now I'll be able to sleep tonight. :P — Wolfborn(Howl) 05:06, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
