Eyja vs Interior Decorating[edit]

I placed all the flawless gems gained from the Rosethorne Cache in one of the display cases in the dining area and all of Garridon's Tears in the other. They move around all the time, but I just assumed this was part of the game. I know that whenever I try to place Hrormir's Staff in any of the display cases it pops out or falls out when I come back later, and it moves around when set on the ledge above either fireplace. Anyway, I turned around one day and I swear I saw Eyja opening the purple display case by the stairs. It was empty, but has anyone else seen this happen? Could she be causing my other stuff to move around? In the display cases in the master bedroom I have not had any problems with movement. I laid out a bow with an arrow "notched" across it in one and some Daedric daggers and a mace in another. The positions that I set everything in have stayed exactly the same, just not in the display cases on the main floor.

I've not seen Eyja do it herself, but one of the mods I run sometimes (Street Traders) adds a display case to the Market District. Once that's unlocked, NPCs frequently open and close the lid. That's an action I've seen cause things to move about in display cases, but not move things from one case to another. --RpehTalk 12:38, 9 August 2007 (EDT)
For what it's worth, I've seen the maid in Battlehorn Castle open my display cases. I also think, but I may be remembering this wrong, she picked up the staff I had in it -Dan 9410 12:10, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
I've too have seen Eyja open my display case that is on the right when you walk in the front door. The Welklyd Stones then proceeded to drop out of the bottom of the case and onto the floor. Very strange I thought. — Unsigned comment by 71.49.87.157 (talk) on 4 August 2008

Is this the same person used in the "Romancing of Eyja" mod?

Yes - although she gets changed quite a bit by the mod. We don't mention (most) mods on the site though. —RpehTCE 05:21, 29 December 2007 (EST)

One time I killed Eyja with my Apothesis. I then proceeded to reanimate her with my Staff of Worms. Before the 30 seconds of "Reanimate" were up, I reloaded the game to right before I killed her. But when I reloaded, she still had red eyes, but I could talk to her like normal, asking for food, drink, about her, etc... — Unsigned comment by 71.49.87.157 (talk) on 4 August 2008

I've seen my ever scamps do that at rosethorn... but only to the one near the exit of the stares. it's be cause they need to follow me & the get caut be the case, it has a moving part(like a door) so they open it, eyja must do the same thing... Lirum 23:37, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Eyja and Food/Ingredients[edit]

I'm pretty paranoid about leaving my ingredients around in containers in the house, potions as well, because I'm concerned that she will consume them, particularly the rare ones, or even eat one of my poisoned apples. Is that possible? --124.181.54.57 05:12, 3 January 2008 (EST)

When eating she always sits on a stool in the basement so I'd imagine that as long as you don't store your ingredients down there you'll be safe enough. I haven't tested that to be certain though. —RpehTCE 07:10, 3 January 2008 (EST)
i have every rare item in the game basically on show in the house, will she move them?
i have helms on the shelves on the first floor, swords on the top of the desks in the office part, all of my rings, amulets and necklaces in the purple cabnit, and she goes upstairs aswell ive noticed... — Unsigned comment by 81.101.237.199 (talk)
No, she won't. Oblivion's AI isn't so sophisticated that she will steal items from you or move them about. --SerCenKing 04:00, 19 February 2009 (EST)

Eyja and Crime[edit]

Will she report you to the guards once you hire her?

No. If you attack her, her disposition will drop by ten points and she'll fight back. She'll always accept a yield. If she catches you pickpoketing her, she won't even acknowledge it.
--Debatra 17:14, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Eyja dosent always accept yields, I hit her once and she would not accept my yield.

Eyja: Her Purpose[edit]

Sure Eyja will give you a free drink and food. But are they worth anything? Not really. She will open any display case on the first floor, but she will not come up the stairs unless you make her. But somehow since she moves around the house like any NPC would; if you place any gems, ingredients etc. in the display case on the second floor; they may move a bit, sometimes causing them to fall through the floor or burst open the display window.

So why should you let her live there? Well, the obvious one is to feed on her when you become a vampire. And another is to train your Sneak skill, as well as Alteration, Illusion, Mysticism and Restoration.

I've also read on a different language Oblivion site that during the Sanguine Quest, you can return to your house in Skingrad, cast the spell on Eyja (I forgot what else you need to do but) and keep her without any clothes on. But then again, I don't get why anyone would want to... The game did attempt to prevent you from making her switch clothes though, for being a Maid; her clothing has the highest base value so reverse pickpocketting wouldn't work. And it covers her top and bottom and the only zero weight robe is the black robe and is worth 0. She would put on the Mage's Hood but there is not much you can do with it.

Yes she will eat the Poisoned Apple if it's the only food around. (Garlic in the basement respawns so rather difficult) But what's the point?

The only real purpose for her being the way she is, is to "serve" a Vampire.--Webdemon00 06:23, 1 September 2008 (EDT)

While the food she gives you is more or less worthless it is a usefull ingredient for a potion with something like 30 base value.

Eyja Bugs[edit]

I noticed recently that Eyja is carrying at least 1k gold with her (that might be my doing, I don't quite remember), but for some reason when I try to pickpocket it from her it just exits the screen without taking it. Usually if you're caught then it will exit, but you will still get whatever you tried to take. Has anyone else noticed bugs with giving/taking money from Eyja?

If you're caught pickpocketing you don't get the item you were trying to take. —SolarEquinox 16:37, 20 September 2008 (EDT)
That happened to me as well. She doesn't catch me, I just don't get to take the 999 gold from her. Savas 00:30, 20 June 2009 (EDT)

Notices Vampirism[edit]

Eyja seems to notice if you're a vampire. If you're near her when at any level of vampirism, she'll say "Something seems... amiss with you, milord." And I've never heard her say that when you're uninfected with it.--75.57.163.159 21:49, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

I was just going to post the new line if it was not already here. I noticed it after becoming a vampire since the last time I stopped in Skingrad. Does it deserve mention on the main page since this is the only NPC I have seen that mentions the change? I have not played much as a vampire... GRPeng 19:40, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
It should definitely be there - dunno why it's not. I'll add it. Legoless 20:05, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
