Eronor Relation[edit]

When asked someone in Leyawiin about 'rumors' they told me that Dagail knows a lot about Mysticism (understandable as she is the master trainer) and sheep, could this be related to the fact her 'brother' Eronor, is a shepherd? I'm not sure that this really belongs on the page, so I just put it here. The-manta 19:57, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

I'm very interested in this as well. I have several times overheard the other guild members talking about her fascination with sheep - a thing she never mentions herself. It would be great to get the rumors done and the mystery solved. Krusty 08:15, 9 May 2009 (EDT)
I'm going with The-manta. Prior Maborel's rumor is "Surprised by Eronor's uncanny way with sheep? Perhaps it would interest you to know that Eronor's sister, Dagail, in Leyawiin, is an accomplished spellcrafter."RpehTCE 09:12, 10 May 2009 (EDT)
I think Krusty meant these two rumors: "Don't know what fascinates her about sheep. But she sure seems to know everything about Mysticism." and "I've heard that she knows more about Mysticism than anyone else. Strange about sheep, though."' The translation from italian is a bit rough but you can get the main idea. Anyway, I also think that it's related to Eronor; as I discussed with Krusty on IRC yesterday. --SerCenKing Talk 10:05, 10 May 2009 (EDT)
Yes I know. I was trying to explain the connection. There's nothing quite like your rumors in the English version. "I've heard that Dagail knows a lot about Mysticism. And sheep." and "Dagail has been training high ranking mages more about mysticism. And he's [sic] also been researching sheep, from what I hear." are the two English versions.
Old discussion, I know, but a suggestion: How about if we shortened that whole family-relations description on Dagail's page and removed the full speculation to Eronor's page - mostly because Dagail's page is about to explode with information. I think we should keep Prior Maborel's statement, though. Krusty 23:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Cheap Wine[edit]

Actually, there IS six bottles of Cheap Wine carefully hidden behind her bed (just checked it) - and another on her nightstand. As a matter of fact, I don't think it's a coincidence and that the programmers put them there on purpose. If it belongs on her page or not, I don't know. But it's a really funny detail - maybe she used Cheap Wine while her amulet was away? Krusty 16:52, 14 June 2009 (EDT)

The problem is that there is no AI Package for Dagail where she is drinking. It's a baseless assumption, she might as well be saving the bottles as a surprise for a fellow guildmate, stolen them because she is kleptomanic or nicked them from her guildmates to sober them up. --Timenn < talk > 17:02, 14 June 2009 (EDT)
I know. Still, it's a pretty funny detail, and we're sometimes pretty quick to label NPCs as Skooma Addicts as well (example). Nevertheless, I choose to think it explains her weird behaviour a bit better, but guessing doesn't belong on the main pages. Btw; Is it visible in the CS if the NPC drinks? I have seen plenty of NPCs behaving "suspiciously" - but I've always assumed, it was just "eating". Krusty 17:11, 14 June 2009 (EDT)
That's probably due to the nature of Skooma. The games have never a shown an indication that there are casual Skooma eaters. Skooma eating is a habit that has a negative reputation, while drinking wine has not. There are many NPCs in the game that drink, but few of them seem odd. I hope you're not suggesting I'm alcoholic because I have more than six beers in my fridge. ;) --Timenn < talk > 17:50, 14 June 2009 (EDT)
:D Not at all - that would make me one as well! :D Still, the other question; is it specified in the CS whether and NPC eats or drinks? Krusty 18:39, 14 June 2009 (EDT)
There is a special AI Package for eating. Probably because the NPC must find something to eat first, to allow stuff like Poisoned Apples to work. Drinking is just an animation; there is a specific "Use Item" package that enables the ability to have NPCs perform certain animations (e.g. reading, shoveling, drinking) that seem to interact with objects already in their inventory. But drinking adds no gameplay effect (unlike eating). --Timenn < talk > 07:05, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

Leyawiin Prophecy[edit]

"Let me see your hand. I see the City in the Hand, and the Hand in the Stars. The tower guards the gate, but the Gate holds the Key. The King is the Key, and the Hand guards the King." I have a theory on what this means. "The King is the Key" I believe refers to Martin Septim, who is the Key to stopping the Oblivion Crisis. The Hand guarding the King is you. City in the Hand refers to Bruma, because during the Battle of Bruma, the city is in your hands, so it could say "City in the hand of the Hand," but no prophecy ever works like that. Hand in the Stars means your fate is written in the stars. Now, the Gate holding the Key refers to the Great Oblivion Gate, holding the Great Sigil Stone inside. (I know it's the stone holding the gate, but still, it's a prophecy.) Because the GSS is the final key to open a portal to Paradise. Now, the tower guarding the gate is the Sigil Keep. Tell me what you think of my interpretation of the prophecy. SheosMan117 06:37, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Good one! I only worked out the key is martin, and you protect him part of it.110.33.6.129 07:20, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree to this one, but what if her prophecy is a clue to the plot of TES V? As far as I know, someone in Bloodmoon also predicted the events of Oblivion, and no one has found any references to TES V in Oblivion or Shivering Isles, so I think it is possible.188.112.158.201 12:56, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
But Dagail is looking at the player's hand when she tells this prophecy so it would less likely that it is about TES V which is 200 years after Oblivion. If she is reading stars or Elder Scrolls or something else then yes, it could be TES V, but player's hand, it must be related to the player, then it should be about Oblivion Crisis.117.4.245.242 06:51, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
I thought maybe the city could be the cities of Cyrodiil possibly, the hand is you and the stars are Fate, like the star signs. That would make some sense because the City in the Hand could mean you control what happens to the cities, like the saying I'm putting ...... in your hands. Also, the Hand in the Stars could mean you are controlling fate, or possibly, when Uriel Septim tells you he's "seen you" then he says "then the stars were right, and this is the day" the riddle could be referring to his dreams and the quote "I chart my course by the cycles of the heavens" indicates he has seen you in the stars. Man?[edit]

I just asked Eitar about the rumors around town, and he said Dagail was the man to go to if they needed training in Mysticism....:| Shianni 03:24, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

When talking about Dagail's fascination with sheep, the townsfolk will refer to Dagail as being male.

It seems Dagail was originally male. --AKB Talk 03:28, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Hmm...:| The text said it was a misspelling, but Eitar actually SAID it. NPC's are weirdos. :| Shianni 03:34, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Adoption[edit]

She and her brother could be adopted, a possibility not listed on her page. — Unsigned comment by 173.88.87.22 (talk) at 01:46 on 27 May 2013

Um, I think you may have the wrong page there, as this page is for an Oblivion NPC and adoption is not possible in Oblivion :)--WoahBro (talk) 01:51, 27 May 2013 (GMT)
To the original poster, I've tweaked the Eronor and Dagail articles to mention the possibility of adoption. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:10, 27 May 2013 (GMT)

Mysticism training dialogue[edit]

Can someone add the dialogue for the Mysticism training? Both for when the prerequisites are met and when they are not?
