FormID[edit]

Isn't this guy's form ID meant to be 00000014? Dagoth Ur, Mad God 23:15, 4 March 2008 (EST)

Nope. It's 00000007 in the Construction Set, and that's the data we use on our pages. –Eshetalk23:18, 4 March 2008 (EST)
No. Please put some effort into researching your facts before posting baseless questions. --NepheleTalk 23:21, 4 March 2008 (EST)

Essential[edit]

Either he's essential or he's not (I haven't spawned him, so I can't say, but if he's really just a copy of the player he should be). If he is, he shouldn't be placed in the essential NPC category. If he is, his info box should say yes, not no. Basically-which one is right?129.133.125.12 16:58, 3 July 2008 (EDT)

He's not a copy of the Player - he IS the Player. Since you can't beat the game if you're dead, it's safe to say that his survival is pretty much a requirement, thus he qualifies as Essential by technicality, even if he isn't officialy labelled as such. --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:25, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
Basically, he's Essential in the way that the Essential NPCs in Morrowind are essential. — Unsigned comment by 72.135.192.116 (talk) at 01:59 on 16 December 2011‎

Dilogue[edit]

What happens if you spawn Bendu Olo and talk to him? Is that possible? Would he respond with dialogue based on a character in your factions (i.e. Gray Fox -> "We don't talk about him in public...")? -66.41.62.253 22:39, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Yes, he/she does talk about Gray Fox if you're in the Thieves Guild, about Martin Septim if you're in the Blades etc. Nuppiz 16:00, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Killing[edit]

If you spawn this guy and kill him, does the game end like it does when you die? --142.161.35.60 00:14, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure. I'll try it out and I'll tell you the results. --ModderElGrande 00:17, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
No. You get cast out of any guilds you might be in, but the game doesn't end. The clone isn't you - it's a copy of you. rpeh •TCE 00:21, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Items[edit]

If you spawn and kill him, does he have the same gold and items you do? And can you take it? — Unsigned comment by 68.171.235.223 (talk) at 21:13 on 26 October 2010

Yep, because it's a complete copy of you. But killing him will immediately get you expelled from all of the guilds you are currently a member of, because the clone is also a member of them. Nuppiz 17:23, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh wait, if you spawn him with the "placeatme" command, he only has the default prison items. But you still get expelled from any guilds you are in if you commit a crime against your clone.Nuppiz 15:12, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Multiple Copies of Bendu Olo[edit]

I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a limit to how many copies of Bendu Olo that can be made in one game, or if any type of glitch would happen with a saved game due to multiple copies of the player character being in the game world?

I've played one saved game where I made three copies. One copy was left in the Prior of the Nine. My second copy was made into a "Follower". I made a third copy inside a fort, and, after learning that I couldn't get him to follow me along with the 2nd copy, I hit him with a spell and then had him chase me for a while. The "Follower Bendu" did not come to my aid when the 3rd Bendu was attacking me, but would defend me against the summoned Scamp "The 3rd Bendu" conjured. The "Follower" also did not respond to getting hit with arrows from "The 3rd Bendu" (who wasn't attacking the Follower clone, he was just trying to hit me).

Also, does anyone else think it would be a good idea to update Bendu Olo's entry with the following? "If you have completed the Knights of the Nine questline, you may order your clone to follow you. WARNING: if you kill yourself while in a guild, you will be expelled for killing a member (the member being yourself), and if your clone kills a member of your guild, you will be expelled." (taken from the Oblivion:Console page). It just seems to be a useful bit of information that, in my opinion, should also be on a page about Bendu Olo rather than on only the Console Commands page.

Additional Suggestions:

"You cannot have more than one clone of yourself as a Follower."

"You do not have the option to have your clone 'Wait' or to dismiss them"

"Your clone will not defend you from another attacking clone of your character, but will defend you against any summoned creatures the attacking clone may conjure." Bchat 18:19, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Skyrim Tutorial[edit]

This is out of scope of the article so boot me outta here, but for TES fans in general Bendu Olo is the subject for the Skyrim Quest Design Fundamentals Tutorial [1] and becomes a Dark Elf located at the Mixwater Mill Workers House.--Lmstearn (talk) 12:53, 19 January 2015 (GMT)
