Lord Kelven's Shield[edit]

u know that lord kelven's bulawark sheld?, whens is it created comparing to your level? i'm just wondering if i should just leave the place to level 30 or doing it and not geting everything yet. — Unsigned comment by 125.236.132.104 (talk)

It comes into play once you've bought every single upgrade, appearing in a chest at the end of the bed in the barracks, but it's level is always the level of your character when you FIRST install the DLC.

Secret[edit]

There is also a Secret Passage behind the Archery Target in the Training Room that leads to a Grotto containing about 3 valara stones, a skeleton with a unique blade + shield, and a lich that has a key to a chest containing leveled loot. — Unsigned comment by 69.62.173.252 (talk)

We know, it's part of the unmarked quest involving Lord Kain. DaedryonTCE 02:29, 16 August 2008 (EDT)

Four marauders do not make for much of a war.[edit]

I'm no modmaker but it seems to me that there could have been much more of a quest at this castle. Even just an area that generates marauders until some bad guy is dispatched would give some extra play value. As is, it takes maybe an hour to do everything. Oh well, I guess it's better than horse armour.

What does the quest log to do with trophies mean?[edit]

Do I have to do anything to get the trophies or is it auto on killing of respective enemy? 82.6.201.93 09:28, 4 January 2009 (EST)Chris

You have to hand the required creature parts over to Melisi Daren: see this. –RpehTCE 09:32, 4 January 2009 (EST)

Yea, sorry, i found it just after i put the question forward. So much for looking before asking. 82.6.201.93 10:05, 4 January 2009 (EST)Chris

GotY[edit]

I'm just curious, sense the Game Of The Year Edition of Oblivion IV The Elder Scrolls has a LOT of free plugins (Example: Knights of the Knine, and Shivering Isles) I'm wondering if you get ths one free in the Game Of The Year Edition. Please post answer under soon thanks

--Troy

No, it only comes with Knights of the Knine and the Shivering Isles; you'll have to download the others. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 10:34, 15 February 2009 (EST)
Honestly, if you're going to be vague, you aren't helping anyone out. Shivering Isles is not a plug-in, it's an expansion. Plug-ins add quests, items, or places to the world of the main quest; the expansion adds a whole new world somewhere in the Planes of Oblivion. The plug-ins, nine in all, were originally available for download, but the website for the PC versions is now defunct. Eight of the nine (excluding Fighter's Stronghold) were bundled with the boxed retail version of Knights of the Nine. They are not included in the GOTY edition of Oblivion. Two of anything is not "a LOT", and neither the plug-ins nor the expansion were ever free (with the exception of Fighter's Stronghold, which was offered as a free download for one week when it was first released). I don't know if the downloads are still available for XBox, but they are not available anywhere for PC or PS3. 12.233.146.130 21:45, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Help with trophies[edit]

I discovered, quite by mistake, that giving the taxidermist all of the required parts at the same time does NOT queue the construction of the trophies. I mistakenly assumed it would, since it worked with the wine maker.

What I am wondering, is if anyone has the item codes or console commands necessary to spawn the trophies themselves. This would help me complete my castle, as the taxidermist no longer has dialogue to make the remaining trophies for me. Any help is appreciated.

There you go, type for everyone of these FormIDs the following:
prid FormID
enable
Use the following IDs to spawn all trophies, remember to check this on how to figure out what to enter in place of xx.
  • xx004d97 (Brown Bear)
  • xx00489c (Clannfear)
  • xx004899 (Daedroth)
  • xx00489b (Minotaur)
  • xx0048ab (Mountain Lion)
  • xx005555 (The rock the Mountain Lion is standing on)
  • xx00489d (Ogre)
  • xx00489e (Troll)
  • xx0048a6 (Wolf)
  • xx005556 (The rock the Wolf is standing on)
Good luck with it. --Timenn-<talk> 16:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Where should you go to hear rumors of it the fastest?[edit]

I bought and downloaded the quest about three days ago and haven't heard about Battlehorn Castle.I've asked everyone I saw in 4 towns and asked a lot of fighter's guild members and turned up short.I even looked up where it was on the internet, went in that direction and found nothing. The entire west side of chorrol was searched and i still found nothing. The same for the Knights of the Nine, I haven't heard anything about it. I've checked to see if it was completely downloaded several times and, big surprise, it was. I just need someone to direct me what to do. Thanks. My system is xbox 360 and I don't have game of the year edition. Please help.

When you enter the main menu does it say it is loading extra content?--Kri-Dar 22:07, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

I have the 360 also. When you load up the screen, it should say loading extra content. Once it loads you should be at the title screen. The quest should pop up once you load your game; if not try waiting 24 hours. Oh, and make sure at the title screen where it says DOWNLOADS it lists Battlehorn Castle. Hope this helps! :) Jplatinum16 22:23, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Well it did say that, but I didn't see a list of the items I downloaded. I got Frostcraig Spire at the same time and that works fine, got the note at the beginning and everything. When I get home from work, I'm just going to delete it and download it again to see if it works. And the waiting 24 hours thing really isn't working out cause it's been 5 days, but I do appreciate the help. And Kri-Dar, I did check out your page, and it was funny.

i have the SAME problem. it dosn't appear on my list of downloads except my story is different. i downloaded it on another account, played with it, deleted it so i could do frostgrag and i went to re-download it. but it dosn't appear on my list!Anaklusmos 21:00, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Den of thieves?[edit]

After using Lord Kelvyn's Bulwark i put it back in "Lord Kelvyn's" chest. However, after seeing a Battlehorn man at arms in my private quarters for no apparent reason, the shield has not been in the chest since. On top of Rona Benarus stealing stuff from the private quarters display case i am beginning to think that everybody there is scripted to steal from you! Mathiusdragoon 01:08, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Rona actually doesn't steal from you- if you fight her she will pick up nearby weapons you have laid out to defend herself (in truth, I don't blame her) but she does sometimes bump into objects and knock them out of view- giving the allousion that she 'stole' them. I'm guessing the Battlehorn man came in by the secret room in the quarters, by a glitch in his patrolling script.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:12, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

I too am having the same issue. Frostcrag spire is working just fine on my Xbox, but Battlehorn castle is not coming up at all. I have looked under downloads but it is not highlighted almost as if I haven't downloaded anything. I am having the same issue with the Mehrunes Razor quest any help with this would be welcomed thanks. I also downloaded this content about 3-5 days ago. (jander301) This is jander301 letting you know I have figured it out. When you first load the game you are asked to download the updates for the game if you download this you should be able to logg on the game and the quest for battlehorn will pop up right as the game comes up. I just did it myself and it worked just fine I hope this helps everyone. P.S. you can uninstall the updates later for those who use the cheat for multiplying items.

Two notes about the mauraders[edit]

Two things I have noticed about this battle with the mauraders;

  • If you run up on horse you can talk to the warlord because she doesn't become hostile until she opens the gate.
  • You can kill the warlord before she opens the gate- providing a causualty-free castle when you enter.

What an odd occurrence...(PC)[edit]

I defeated the overwhelming marauder army, and then noticed that:

1. The Journal hadn't updated the quest, mainly because
2. There were no surviving Men-At-Arms around.

I noticed the map marker, and it was on the Green Road near Pell's Gate...(!) I waited a few hours until the marker had approached Battlehorn. I ran down the road towards the Pillaged Mine, and found two Men-At-Arms fighting the "Spell Tomes Conjurer". Upon speaking to one of them, I received the Deed etc. and the Quest was updated. Very weird. I wonder where they originated? ComaDivine 12:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

I had the same thing happen to me once. I've got no idea how it could happen though. My best guess would be some kind of minor conflict with an existing mod, but I'd have thought that would cause more major problems. rpeh •TCE 07:43, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

I have also lost Lord Kelvyn's shield, (Xbox 360). I left it stored in its chest at Battlehorn. I have leveled up about 3 grades, so its kinda late to try a recovery.

PS3[edit]

is there any way to get this for ps3???

No.

cant buy upgrades[edit]

ive bought all expansions except for the shivering isles an the knights of the nine. at lvl 2 i defeated the marauders and got the ring from the qount. a man at arms gave me a wuest update. i went to imperial city where i got a note with al possible upgrades for battlehorn. but for some reason no upgrades appear so i cant buy any of them. any help?

Have that problem, youre not alone.

->Yeah this bug seems to have slipped through the cracks. I've searched everywhere, it seems to occur from time to time. Yes I've tried the following: Checking him from 10 am to 8 pm. Unmounting the DLC, saving, and remounting to reset. Even trying to SetStage. The only thing I've yet to do is look up the item numbers and spawning the purchases manually.
