Umaril[edit]

Shouldn't Umaril's Sword be added as one of the artifacts since he is considered ayleid, and the sword is almost like a elven longsword. --Umbacano 11:51 , 2 March 2008 (EST)

The Ayleids fascination with Eagles and/or other raptors[edit]

I'm not sure this is the right place or if it's already come to light, but I'll chance it. I've noticed that almost every piece of the Ayleid-made armour/weaponry has some sort of design relating to eagles or other raptor (bird-of-prey, not dinosaur) either through feathers or the profile of a head. Also, isn't the statue seen in many ruins a raptor-headed statue? Just throwing ideas out there. Davehoekst 18:43, 20 July 2008 (EDT)

I think it's interesting that Umaril (the Ayleid boss from KoTN) is also known as the "unfeathered" — Unsigned comment by 68.228.136.40 (talk) at 00:29 on 26 December 2011 (GMT)

Appearance?[edit]

What did the Ayleids look like? I kind of think they would look like the Altmer judging by Umaril the Unfeathered.— Unsigned comment by 24.79.11.151 (talk) on March 27, 2009

If you read through the Aldmer lore page, it says the Altmer may have selectively bred to look like their ancestors (namely, the Aldmer, ancestors of all Mer). The Ayleids should have looked different somehow, because they ARE technically a split-off, but no one can really tell how much. You would think it was safe to assume they have gold skin, from Umaril, but Umaril the Unfeathered is wearing full-body armor, including a helmet, so it's impossible to tell what he looks like - also, he's only half Ayleid. All of his Aurorans wear full body armor, too. Kinda unfortunate that there are no pictures from that time, in TES. We at least have a decent idea with the Dwemer. --76.89.164.24 18:34, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
If I'm not mistaken, there are two Ayleids actually present in the game; the Ayleid Guardians. There is a better picture of them on the "Ultimate Heist" page, and you can view it here.[1] Shouldn't one of these pictures be included on this page? Well, that is if they are truly living Ayleids and not just magically animated statues (as their class would suggest).--Slim Jim 22:46, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
The Ayleid Guardians are actually Altmer with a shader effect. That's the best guess anyone can make as to what Ayleids looked like, but it's not definite. --GKtalk2me 23:14, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Ayleid Books[edit]

Is it just a coincidence that almost the only two authors of books that are npc's wrote books about the ayleids?--Arch-Mage Matt 23:48, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes. --Timenn-<talk> 12:27, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Recreating Ayleid language?[edit]

Is someone knows Ayleid language more closely? Probably I am crazy, but I started to learn it eagerly. But there is tons of essential words, which has no meaning in Ayleidoon, and even more Ayleid words has no known meaning. I found many sources containing articles about Ayleids, found some words, but this is very lack. Probably I need to "create" them, or derive words from other elven languages... I don't know. Any opinions about this? Av Varlais 13:21, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Ayleid Ruin Analysis[edit]

(Feel free to recategorise if need be.) I recently did an analysis of the Ayleid Ruins and found almost all of them to be circle-centric and extremely geometric. A great percentage have a "White-Gold Tower" type of wheel pattern going on in at least one exterior spot. Some of the "walls" seem to serve no functional purpose other than to be decorative. In fact, now that I look at them, its almost as if they are trying to make the ruins seem like them sun, with rays extending out of it. Just an observation, something I wanted to share with everyone. Ruins?[edit]

Other than the one in paradise is there any ayleid cities that aren't in ruin? — Unsigned comment by TheElderScribe (talkcontribs) on 10 January 2010

There's the White Gold Tower, but there are no Ayleid cities that are not in ruin. --Timenn-<talk> 11:25, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Number of ruins[edit]

The article states that there are 52, but I counted more than 52 on the Ayleid Ruins page, and I'm not even counting Abagarlas or Varsa Baalim (or perhaps any other ruins within dungeons that I'm unaware of). --142.161.32.72 23:47, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

The article does state that there are at least 52 ruins. I count 54 on the page you linked to, so I'd say that is close enough. It would skip the question on whether we'd need to include Garlas Malatar (plugin-specific) or The Old Way. --Timenn-<talk> 14:12, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
D'oh, I can't read. --142.161.19.136 02:25, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Artifacts[edit]

Shouldn't the Ayleid Battle Axes weilded by the Aurorans be added to this page? -DevotedInsanity 00:59, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Good spot, you can add them if you like.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:02, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
on a related subject should dark welklynd stones be added. I know you can't pick them up but they are a significant part of gameplay Kingbaby 01:24, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
If you a referring to the ones firing projectiles; Dark Welkynd Stones are already covered here. --Timenn-<talk> 08:12, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
