Errors in Article and Bugs in Game[edit]

I have the Boots of Blinding Speed on, so I was able to interact with Iveri before Botrir arrived, and I found that with an adequate Personality attribute, (mine is at 100), Iveri was polite to me and willing to discuss most anything with me, (other than Widowmaker), so the article is incorrect about her allowing no choice.

Attempting a peaceful resolution, (in-character for my PC), I've tried several times, reloading a saved game and pickpocketing the Widowmaker. With a Sneak skill of 84 and Amulet of Shadows, I can easily see Widowmaker in her inventory without incident, but if I lift it from there, she ALWAYS detects that and attacks; she attacks Botrir, since she can't see me. Since he's unarmed, she will kill him, unless I intervene.

Once I intervene and he and I kill her, this is the bug: Even though I pickpocketed Widowmaker from her, it is not in my inventory. Naturally, since I pickpocketed it, it's not on her either. Even though Iveri is dead, since I don't have Widowmaker, Botrir doesn't recognize that we've defeated Iveri. Therefore, he continues to make grisly threats of what he's going to do to her when he finds her.

Since he doesn't have Widowmaker, he will also continue following me over hill and over dale, until one of my opponents kills him. I've also attempted pickpocketing him, to see if he has Widowmaker, and he doesn't. However, he is carrying a random assortment of Nordic Fur items that he obviously isn't wearing, which causes me to question his tale about her stealing his clothes; she doesn't have any of his clothes on her.

He is also capable of following me around even though I'm Sneaking and using Amulet of Shadow; he still sees where I am, and where I'm going.

With the Boots of Blinding speed, I could escape him, but this is a most unsatisfactory resolution to this quest, so I'll be going back to that Save.

Upon doing so, and leading Botrir to Iveri, but without talking to her, when Botrir attacks her, she attacks me, instead of Botrir, so he's able to eventually kill her. The article is therefore wrong about watching the two of them battle it out at our leisure. 74.38.23.12 03:54, 14 October 2014 (GMT)

There having been no discussion about this, I'm editing the Finding the Witch section to reflect the result of extensive playtesting. 74.38.23.12 05:09, 9 November 2014 (GMT)
