Strange Bug with the PC version of Morrowind in the Arena Pit[edit]

I don't know why this isn't already listed, but there is a strange bug when fighting people in the arena pit itself in Vivec's Arena Canton. Hostile NPCs in the Arena Pit seem completely immune to spells (whether cast from the player character, or from a summoned creature, or from an item) that are "on target" and do not have a blast radius, because such spell effects just seem to pass right through them(!), though magic effects with a range of "Touch" work fine. It doesn't matter who you're fighting in the Arena Pit, or when, either. Anyone interested can witness the bug right here:

Does the Morrowind Code Patch fix this problem?--74.12.124.135 20:15, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I think this is due to that the NPC you are duelling was placed in that cell after you entered it.Similar thing happens when you use LCV. To fix that you should just leave and re-enter the arena. — Unsigned comment by Hollaajith (talkcontribs)

Arena Fighting[edit]

Does anyone know of any mods that allow you to fight in the arena matches like Oblivion? MrSensiBob 23:15, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

There's this one. It requires the MW Script Extender (the link to that is in the mod description). Vesna 03:01, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Missing Slave?[edit]

When I first entered the place above the Arena Pit, where people would sit, I was greeted with someone talking to someone else. The dialogue showed in some boxes, like subtitles. They went along the lines of "Where is that slave?"...and then someone replys "I'm sure he is here somewhere"...or a variant of this. Could anyone shed some light? 24.87.112.42 02:26, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Random "idle" dialog: Where is that slave. Here not long ago. I hear that all the time. --Brf 03:43, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Duel not starting[edit]

I had a problem with duels not starting for the Redoran house Archmaster and the Imperial Legion Knight of the Imperial Dragon. The second time through, I found the following PC solution:

  • if you are in the pit with no opponent, enter the console command "set duelactive to 0"
  • exit the pit
  • return to the pit and your opponent will be there

This is meant to solve the problem of no duel when your quest log shows that you are to go to the arena for the duel (it doesn't solve the problems related to making the duel challenge that others have reported). --Swordmage (talk) 03:48, 10 February 2013 (GMT)
