Disposition Bug[edit]

I got the bug (not getting rewards for listening) which may be the reason for this, but maybe its just strange: When i kill the Hlaalus and go speak to him, clicking the topic Odiniran lowers his disposition. But then clicking on Not interested it doesnt lower it, so it may just get lowered a bit sooner due to that bug. — Unsigned comment by 212.111.4.50 (talk) at 05:36 on February 18, 2011

Repairing the bug[edit]

In the article there are the codes for obtaining two rewards out of the three missing ones, why not all three? You can add the scrolls as well with player->additem sc_summondaedroth_hto 7. Player->AddItem sc_summondaedroth_hto 7 — Unsigned comment by 212.111.4.50 (talk) on 21 February 2011

The scrolls come from Milyn Faram, not Aryon. It's a different script, and one not affected by the bug - that's why it's not on the page. rpeh •TCE 16:03, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
As far as I can see (in the CS), you are incorrect. At least in my GOTY edition, I don't see a way to obtain either the scrolls or the journal entry. The devs made the mistake of putting a generic dialog that responds to the journal entry (50) above the choice dialog. The right fix for this page would actually be to update your journal before talking to Aryon (and adding the scrolls to your inventory, if you are so inclined).
Look at Milyn Faram's dialogue under Odirinan. Once you've killed Remasa Othril you can listen to Milyn talk about her research. The line Yes, quite. Why not take a sample of these new scrolls and examine them yourself? Now, if you will excuse me, I really must get back to work now. gives you the scrolls and sets the quest stage. rpeh •TCE 20:01, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Nope. I agree with the first poster, the bug stops you from getting all 3 rewards. I listen to Milyn Faran but just get the response It is so much happier here now that Remasa Othril is dead. Now, go away, I have work to do. The topic then sets journal entry 50. No scrolls and no chance for getting the remaining rewards from Aryon. Adding the scrolls manually and setting the journal to 60 before speaking to Aryon seems to have resolved things correctly. As with the other poster I am using the GOTY edition. 86.175.219.43 19:10, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

How to ...[edit]

Do this quest during when you are in both Telvanni and Hlaalu ? JackTurbo95 16:47, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

You can only be in one, unless you are using the glitch. You are on your own here. --Brf 16:52, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm using the glitch. I was thinking do you complete one side , then the other if possible. JackTurbo95 16:53, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Why don't you try it and see? --Brf 16:54, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
I might just try that ;) JackTurbo95 18:09, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

There is a way to complete this quest for both sides, but it involves using the console for PC only. Just use the placeatme command to spawn clones of the two npcs you need to kill. And once you've killed the clones, feel free to use the disable command to make them disappear.

First do the Telvanni side and go talk directly with Milyn Faram. Spawn and kill a Remasa Othril clone. Talk to Milyn Faram again and listen to his observations. Go back to Tel Vos to complete the Telvanni quest. Once that's done, go back to Odirniran and this time go talk to Remasa Othril. Spawn and kill a Milyn Faram clone. Then proceed to free Vedelea Othril and talk with Remasa Othril again to wrap up the Hlaalu quest. If any of the above NPCs are immediately hostile to you, just use a calm spell and they should remain docile after that.

Alternately, you can also try the journal command to update the journal entries, thus skipping the actual killings. It's faster, but you do lose out on some minor dialogue.

If you really need to RP these console commands, just pretend that you persuaded both sides that the other is dealt with already, or pretend you cast some fancy illusion spell that mimics killing the respective NPCs. At least using the console means a few more NPCs needn't pointlessly die. :P -Deltahost (talk) 08:59, 19 January 2014 (GMT)

Bug Fix Needs Fixing[edit]

The console claims not to find: setjournalindex. I had to use "journal" instead.Downstrike (talk) 01:54, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

SetJournalIndex only works if the Tribunal expansion (or later) has been installed. I've changed the console code in the bugfix to "Journal" since that's what should be used here anyway - there's no reason to use SetJournalIndex here. Thanks for pointing it out! — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:31, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
