Oppose Deletion[edit]

Please see Morrowind Talk:A Bet with Galbedir. --DrPhoton 03:13, 7 November 2006 (EST)

The only place "Fake Soul Gem" ever shows up is in the Construction Set. The average player will never see this. I favor a redirect instead. Leave the quest where it is, and have this just link there. --TheRealLurlock Talk 09:45, 7 November 2006 (EST)
Actually, and more importantly, this name appears in the in-game journal quest list and hence people looking for information on this quest will look for this name. This is why I think that this should be the name of the quest. Furthermore, it has been known by this name in the Mages Guild Quests page for some time and renamed just now. --DrPhoton 14:58, 7 November 2006 (EST)

Selling the stolen gems[edit]

-- don't try to sell them back to any member of the Mage's Guild, since they'll recognize the soul gems, and you'll be expelled from the Mages Guild.

In my experience this is entirely incorrect, both on the PC and on the Xbox. If you resell them to Galbedir she will of course recognise them, just as happens when you attempt to sell stolen goods to the owner, but whenever I begin a new character I always get to this stage, steal the gems, rise to Wizard and sell them to the Mage's Guild merchant Folms Mirel in Caldera to get up to 60,000 Septims. Should it not read that you shouldn't sell them back to Galbedir as opposed to the suggestion here that you can't sell them to any Mage's Guild members? --Moo 11:15, 7 December 2006 (EST)

False Statement[edit]

"If you save in the middle of this quest, and reload, Galbedir may not finish her walk back upstairs, which will cause you to be unable to complete the quest without using the console." This statement is under Bugs on the page, but it is untrue. Even if Galbedir doesn't walk back upstairs it will not stop the player from finishing the quest, as Galbedir really has no role in the quest stages -- Jplatinum16 19:40, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I removed the related bug note. The note about her not returning to her desk is still there, but the implication that you can no longer finish the quest is not. --Timenn-<talk> 14:55, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Moved bug[edit]

  • As Galbedir walks back upstairs, if you get close enough to her she will stop moving and remain in that spot forever. This can be good if you wanted to steal the soul gems from her desk or to keep her downstairs for quicker access, but in some places she may block hallways, making it difficult to move around. Also, if you leave the guild before she makes her way back to her original spot, she may stop where she stands and remain there. This too can be corrected by the ResetActors command.

In my experience (which is a lot, I do the same thing every new character), she never gets stuck without me leaving the area. I even tested it, and the only time that she ever stays is when I leave. --Catmaniac66 17:02, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

In my experience, if you stop close to her long enough to get a greeting, she will stop and block the hallway. Even if what you say were true, you should not leave when she is moving, because it guarantees she will get stuck, so the note should remain. --Brf 15:34, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Fair enough, Its minor anyways, and Ill get used to signing eventually--Catmaniac66 17:02, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
It is minor to the quest, but major if you use that guildguide a lot, and have to squeeze by her every time you go down the ramp ;) --Brf 17:06, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
