Are you sure?[edit]

Are you sure that you cannot confront him with a slave's testimony if you already took the ledger? I could. 96.235.25.127 22:54, 18 March 2009 (EDT)

I just came across this quest, and I had found and taken the ledger before I'd even joined the Imperial Cult. I was able to use it to blackmail Cunius, so unless someone be more specific about such conditions, I think this statement needs to be removed. --67.181.20.74 19:48, 22 May 2009 (EDT)
Maybe this is so obvious it doesn't need to be included in the write up, but I'll throw it out in case someone thinks it should be in there for completeness' sake. When I did this mission, by talking to Cunius repeatedly and pressing him about the donation, he decided to attack me (no taunt/speechcraft skill necessary, as far as I can tell, thought I might be wrong). Once he attacks you, you can just kill him and loot his body, then go deliver the funds to Iulus in Ebonheart. This NPC does not seem to be part of any other quests, as far as I can tell, so killing him doesn't seem to break any other quests. 74.215.239.57 08:29, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

possible conflict with redoran quest[edit]

On the PC GOTY edition i could not complete the redoran quest "evidence of corruption", probably because i had already obtained the secret ledger during this quest. (joural indexes: HR_CalderaCorrupt=70, HR_CalderaDisrupt=0) — Unsigned comment by 82.204.99.179 (talk) at 14:11 on 18 January 2010

Also found this. Have talked to Dahleena to get mention of Helvi's secret chest. Did the talk-to-NPC-naked trick to get past the auto-"Goodbye" that Cunius gives post-donation to get info + key off him. Picked up the secret ledger and took it to Garisa Llethri. Evidence of Corruption quest does not advance/complete. 217.44.86.122 19:10, 20 August 2013 (GMT)

Dead or Alive[edit]

(moved from the article)

If you talk to some people about Cunius on the xbox version they will say the heard about his death even if he is alive.

I moved this because it's unhelpful. Who, when and why would be useful. And does it affect the PC version? It probably doesn't belong on this page anyway unless it's specific to the quest rather than the NPC. rpeh •TCE 10:24, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I think this IS specific to this quest because when I spoke to Iulus about Cunius right after receiving the quest (to see what he had to say about the quest) he mentioned that he was dead (how sad for his wife) and that he hopes this doesnt affect his donation (or something). I went to check because I knew I hadn't even been in the governor's hall yet and sure enough there he was, not dead! Jihiro 09:16, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

the the[edit]

If someone can check the source, thanks for fixing or putting 'sic' next to 'the the' in stages 40 and 42 of the journal. - Kharn 21:11, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Done. Two sic tags added. rpeh •TCE 10:04, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

No Dialogue Options[edit]

I got the quest in Ebonhearth, but Cunius offers no quest-related option to talk about. I don't no exactly why, maybe because I've already liberated all slaves in his mines or I've already plundered the rooms on the second floor ? - Needs to be checked. — Unsigned comment by 188.109.25.2 (talk) at 07:44 on 14 January 2014

I have the same problem. Asking the slaves, taking the ledger, nothing works at Cunius. Only the usual answers. no quest-related option. --2.246.198.63 09:29, 8 April 2014 (GMT)
Same problem here. I got the quest, but have no dialog option to collect the pledge. Not the ledger nor slaves gives any additional option beside the usual conversation.

Using ledger doesn't work after talking to slaves[edit]

I talked to the slaves in the mine first, then went and got the secret ledger. When I tried to threaten to reveal his skimming, I didn't get an option to show him the book. He dismissed me and his disposition went down 10 pts (like index 15). If I used the slave testimony, I got the three pieces of ebony, but he wouldn't talk to me afterwards.Fiwiji (talk) 02:05, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
