Should this be a full page?[edit]

Unlike most of the non-existant NPCs, Cinia Urtius is a significant character in that she was supposed to be the Master Trainer for Medium Armor. The others are for the most part non-relevant NPCs that don't really matter. Additionally, Cinia Urtius is placed back into the game by various mods, notably the Unofficial Morrowind Patch, one of the few which we actually mention on the site. Seems to me she deserves a little bit more than a simple redirect to a page where she's lost in a big chart surrounded by a bunch of nobodys. --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:52, 11 July 2008 (EDT)

I'm just going to come down with a "yes" on this one. It does rather go against the no mods, no console policy but in a case of a clear bug like this one I think it's just about fair enough. –RpehTCE 14:04, 11 July 2008 (EDT)

Trainer?[edit]

I get that since Cinia is level 100 in Medium Armor while also having high levels in other skills that she might have been intended to be the master trainer for Medium Armor. However, is this really enough justification to give her this title? My main issue with calling her a master trainer is that she does not even provide training and offers no services in general. This can be seen here and I also checked in-game and in the actual Construction Set as well. I personally believe that it seems like speculation to state that she was supposed to be a master trainer when she's not even set up to provide training, unless I'm missing some other detail that backs up this claim. Not ideal, but the player guide for the game lists her as the Master Trainer for Medium Armor in at least a couple of spots: once in the Master Trainer section and again in the map section next to Tel Fyr, and those are just two spots that I can name off the top of my head. This seems to suggest that at the time of the book's writing, that she was planned to be the Master Trainer of Medium Armor, but through something happening, she didn't end up placed in the final game and lost the Training code. --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 18:18, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Is this a bug?[edit]

This page pretty strongly implies that the NPC not being included in the game is a bug. I don't think that's the case, rather she was probably removed intentionally. The House Telvanni quest Coded Message ( https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Coded_Message ) has the player receive water walking potions etc in order to reach Tel Fyr, which wouldn't be necessary if it was intended that there be a ferryman.

Other people on this talk page (though the posts are from 15 years ago) state that this is a "clear bug", but I disagree pretty strongly. I'm not arguing against this page's existance, rather the idea that her deletion was accidental. It might be an oversight that no replacement Medium Armor Master Trainer was created, but I wouldn't call it a bug at all.Morso (talk) 08:19, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

Her absence in the game is definitely a bug; there are master trainers in nearly all skills except two. The missing master trainer for Armorer was addressed by an official plugin, which leaves Medium Armor as the only skill without a master trainer.
Regarding her location, fixing this bug would definitely involve placing Cinia Urtius somewhere. Putting her in the docks of Tel Fyr may have been a creative liberty taken by the Morrowind Patch Project. However, there's also a comment above that refers to the player guide, which implies that she was intended to be located in the area of Tel Fyr.
The quest MW:Coded Message refutes nothing. The player is given water walking potions because, with or without Cinia Urtius, there is still no one who can ferry them to Tel Fyr. Note that she offers only a one-way boat ride to Sadrith Mora, not the other way around. There is nothing unusual about this as another NPC, MW:Sedyni Veran, also offers one-way trips from Vos to Sadrith Mora.
Lastly, I don't think there's any meaningful distinction between a bug and an oversight. A bug *is* an oversight and vice-versa. See MW:Sirollus Saccus#Bugs and TR:Dark Brotherhood#Bugs for examples. Salamangkero (talk) 16:24, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
