Description[edit]

This article could do with some major improvement concerning the proflie of Baladas. I have made a start, though not a particularly good one, and I hope that someone will take the time to help me expand this article, as well as the other Telvanni Councilors' pages. — Unsigned comment by HMSVictory (talkcontribs) at 17:40 on 19 November 2007‎ (GMT)

Descendant of Revus Demnevanni?[edit]

I have moved the following recent edit here for discussion:

He is the descendant of Revus Demnevanni, who was alive in 2E 582: we can therefore presume that his claim to be older than the "empire of men" only refers to the Septim Empire and the Third Era. Which would make sense, since Morrowind was not part of the Reman Empire in the First Era, and puts Baladas's age as no younger than 428 and no older than 742.

I think it's fairly safe to assume that Revus and Baladas are related in some way, but is there any evidence given in ESO that Revus Demnevanni is in fact a progenitor of Baladas, rather than some other relation? If not, then this edit is purely speculative and the note should be reworded to indicate a more general relation between the two. — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:47, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/559817095 53:37 in says Revus is an ancestor. No other statement than that.Zebendal (talk) 04:53, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
I get a "Network Error" when I try to watch that, so I'll take your word for it. Nonetheless, if the only statement is that Revus is an ancestor of Baladas, I still don't think we can draw any firm conclusions about his age based solely on that information. Is there any indication of Revus Demnevanni's age in ESO? Is there any evidence which precludes the possibility that Baladas has already been born by 2E 582? If not, then there's no real way to put a definitive upper bound on his age. — Wolfborn(Howl) 05:45, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
We have no direct confirmation on Revus' age so we shouldn't draw any conclusions on it. the bits "Which would make sense, since Morrowind was not part of the Reman Empire in the First Era, and puts Baladas's age as no younger than 428 and no older than 742." can be cut off.Zebendal (talk) 07:36, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
Actually, I think anything after "He is the descendant of Revus Demnevanni" can be cut off since it's all based on the assumption that "descendant" means he couldn't have been born prior to 2E 582. Unless there's evidence to support that assumption I don't think any further conclusions can be drawn about what his statement about being older than the "empire of men" means. — Wolfborn(Howl) 09:39, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
