Etymology[edit]

Is it noteworthy that in Swedish (and possibly other scandinavian languages) the word "Skingrad" means "scattered"?(Google Translate)
I know it's not relevant in any way but maybe as a fun bit of trivia... MrL 19:54, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

We generally don't include etymologies on the pages, Lore or otherwise, which are based on non-TES languages. Exceptions are theoretically possible, but certainly aren't going to happen for etymologies which are "not relevant in any way". Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 21:12, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Indigenous/historical population -- what race are they?[edit]

I'm just thinking because the historical rulers of Skingrad appear to have Slavic-derived names (case in point, Rislav) and the Kievan Rus' culture was descended from North European migrant groups, whose culture obviously inspired the devs when they designed the culture of the Nords of Tamriel -- were they Nords, Bretons, or Imperials or none of the above? --209.221.91.250 17:35, 5 February 2015 (GMT)

They're Colovians, an Imperial culture more closely related to the Nords than the Nibeneans. They do seem to have a Slavic flair (Kvatch, Skingrad), but there's nothing available on the subject and they mostly keep in line with the race's Roman theme. —Legoless (talk) 23:34, 5 February 2015 (GMT)
