Game Reference[edit]

The last paragraph of this article needs cleaning up to remove the reference to "the main quest". This is the Tamriel namespace and we shouldn't have game references except where unavoidable. I don't know enough of the history to be able to come up with a better phrase, however. --RpehTalk 05:43, 25 July 2007 (EDT)

This is a bit delayed, but I think just removing the last phrase of that sentence would be fine, so that's what I've done. In cleaning the rest of the uh....questionable grammar, however, I've run across a few things I'm unsure about. Someone who knows more about lore should take a look at the fourth paragraph of this article (It is also unclear...). I've done the best I can to fix the most elaborate run-on sentences I've ever seen, but I'm not sure if some correct information was lost along the way. Thanks! --Eshe 21:16, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
My biggest fear is the future tense in the second paragraph. From what "timepoint" are we writing this? Somercy 21:26, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
Not a clue. That's why I asked for someone with actual lore knowledge to check it out ;). My first concern was fixing the glaringly painful grammar issues, but a consistent tense would be pretty awesome too, now that the page is at least a little cleaner. --Eshe 23:49, 24 August 2007 (EDT)

Infernal City Update?[edit]

Should this page be updated, given the events of The Infernal City and that Skyrim will take place over 200 years after Morrowind? Namely, I was thinking that it should be put in the past tense where applicable, and maybe a comment added that the cult's belief that the Tribunal's good deeds would be undone was basically vindicated. The style guide says, "Within Lore articles, it is more appropriate to write from the perspective of a person living within the Elder Scrolls universe. The articles are still expected to be encyclopedia-style, but designed as if they were reference materials for a citizen of Tamriel." But it doesn't really state when a Tamriel citizen would supposedly be referencing this material. I assume that it means a citizen of Tamriel in the most current part of the timeline, i.e., at least after the events of the Infernal City. Minor Edits 23:29, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

This article could definitely use some updating. It doesn't mention the events of Morrowind at all, which is bizarre seeing as the cult's prophecy was fulfilled. As for writing it in the past tense, I'm not sure it's necessary. While it's more than likely that the Ashlanders were destroyed after Baar Dau's fall, unless there's confirmation on the disbanding of the cult it would be better to leave it be. Although lore articles should always be written from the most recent perspective, to refer to the cult as a past body would be bordering on speculation. Although obviously some past tense will be needed if it's being rewritten to include the coming of the Nerevarine. Legoless 00:51, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
