Vulpine[edit]

Okay, starting discussion pages isn't my thing, but let's start with....'Vulpine' means "likeness (or -like) of a fox", since the Latin for Fox is "Vulpes Vulpes". so, please someone clear that up on the article. and also, the suffix 'iit' (from 'Khajiit' which literally means "one who deserts", [and deserts as in the noun, not verb] in Ta'agra the Khajiiti Language) means where one resids or lives...but so far, "Lilmoth" isnt defined, neither are "Lil", or "Moth". But to be honest, they ARE related to the Khajiit, and are actually a race that is basically a fox, like a Khajiit is a cat. So just clarify this in the article, and also add that the extinction is not defined or known by status, and as such should be better confirmed.

I've replied to your question about the name here. The only source which mentions this race doesn't specify the meaning of the word "vulpine". The Lilmothiit are most definitely gone - they "left few enduring signs of their existence" and are mentioned in the past tense. --Legoless 00:55, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Khajiit Society[edit]

Can we assume that the Lilmothiit are closely related or even partially ingratiated to (early) Khajiit society? Their name is obviously derived using the Khajiiti Ta'agra. We might also speculate that the Lilmothiit are actually expatriates (migrants, outcasts, refugees or otherwise) of Elsweyr that have either been segregated due to their appearance and moved to Black Marsh, or that they have adapted and evolved into a species that is suited to the changed environment (i.e. swampland).

Just some thoughts, J'Dazrah 05:03, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

That would be going a step too far. Based on the information we have, there's nothing to back up those claims. --Legoless 13:43, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Sketchs[edit]

It would be of the benifeit of the lore if people with sketchs or noteable in-game detailed description to please contact me on my page or at myshinyeevee.13@gmail.com.

The only sketches we use in the lore are in-game sketches, concept art, and, rarely, slightly altered in-game maps. How does this relate to the Lilmothiit? Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 18:17, 1 July 2013 (GMT)
I saw the sketch that was on the Impa page and thought if there would be drawings in relevent ruins in-game that a sketch by anyone with that type of information could give the uesp followers a sound visual aid.
My Shiny Eevee (talk)
The Imga sketch came from the first Pocket Guide, an informational booklet that came with the game Redguard. Unfortunately, there are no similar sketches for the Lilmothiit. Plenty of fan art, but nothing we'd consider suitable for the pages. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 18:38, 1 July 2013 (GMT)

Extinct[edit]

is it really the best idea to just assume the lilmothilit are extinct? they only had a very vague mention in a book written by the imperial geographic society that wasn't very specific on whether it meant the species or that particular group of lilmothilit — Unsigned comment by 71.195.92.173 (talk) at 06:30 on 29 November 2013

The PGE says they were a nomadic group and left few enduring signs of their existence that were not covered up by later civilizations. That's a pretty clear insinuation that the Lilmothliit are not around any more, and the complete lack of any mention of them anywhere else in lore does nothing to dispel that impression. -- Hargrimm(T) 06:40, 29 November 2013 (GMT)
i meant something more along the lines of maybe they could have a similar situation to the snow elves and still possibly exist somewhere on nirn
although its as i said before very vague and the utter lack of information is a decent cause to speculate — Unsigned comment by 71.195.92.173 (talk) at 07:23 on 29 November 2013
Speculation is for the forums, not the articles. We're concerned with the information available now, not the information Bethesda might give us in the future. There's no in-game speculation on their continued existence, such as with Ayleids. The one source on them says they're extinct, and we're not going to contradict it without another source to fall back on. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 16:33, 29 November 2013 (GMT)

Survivors of the flu?[edit]

"Alas, the Knahaten Flu, so dreadful for dryskins, struck the Fox-Folk with near-total lethality". This, to me, suggests that at least one managed to survive the Knahaten Flu. Timeoin (talk) 23:06, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Add Concept art?[edit]

Theres Concept art found here, specifically this --Tauin (talk) 18:14, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

We are no strangers to using concept art on articles, I would very much like to see this implemented as we have extremely little on Lilmothiit and this would at least serve as a lone depiction. Dcking20 (talk) 23:13, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
