Timeline[edit]

I am yet to see the date of 1E 369 linked to Edward in any source, especially in the eponymic "King Edward" series. It mentions both Dunmer and Redguards. While Dunmer weren't a thing untill around 700, and Redguards didn't come to Tamriel until around 800 I highly doubt Edward lived prior to those events. As for evidence of redguards settlement, since it's a little less obvious, in "King Edward, Part VIII" the baron's skin description is of a dark, akin to but not as deep as that of a dunmer, while baron is still described as human, can't think of any other race than Yokudan/Redguard. I might be wrong, and given date of Edward's rule might be sourced elsewhere, though such source is not given. ITakNieZnasz (talk) 23:04, 13 November 2019 (GMT)

The very first sentence of the first book says "Long, long ago, when the world was in its springtime, before the Redguards came". It mentioned Redguards in that, Edward lived long before Redguards arrived in Tamriel. The book was written much later, but Edward lived well before that. In addition, the book is Fiction, not Non-Fiction, so significant portions are likely to be inaccurate due to the author not understanding things. The 369 date is when the Nordic occupation of Hammerfell ended, the source of which is A History of Daggerfall. I've added that reference to the article. Jeancey (talk) 23:24, 13 November 2019 (GMT)
The site claims in Lore:Daggerfall (kingdom) that Edward was a tangible historically person, listing him and his father amongst Daggerfall's kings, thus I can't say it's treated here utterly as a work of fiction, but the point of internal contradiction is valid. Even if said booksseries seems to retcon itself few times with each tome, first comes to my mind the name and a species of Edward's pet, the contradiction still makes the moot point and as it probably won't be updated, it'd be silly of me to argue with the accepted way of interpretation here. I probably needn't write that last part, but I thought that some sort of sign of agreeement was in order, thanks for response. However in "King Edward X" mentions that Dunmer resistance against nordic invaders took place many years prior to the events of the books and none of the nords who could remember those days is still around. According to Pocket Guide Third Edition: All the Eras of Men the nordic empire wasn't pushed out of Morrowind until 416. Do with that info what you want.ITakNieZnasz (talk) 00:01, 14 November 2019 (GMT)
