Created by Dragons[edit]

My issue is the wording of the masks being "created by dragons". The source (not listed on page) is apparently the loading screens, specifically: "Legend holds that the highest ranking Dragon Priests were granted magical masks". The problem is, this line is pretty weak evidence to support the aforementioned claim. While it's possible that they were in fact created by dragons, the loading screen is not explicit in any way, hence the claim is speculation at best.

For whatever reason, the word "granted" has been somehow translated into "created by dragons". Personally, I don't think a vague line in a loading screen is enough to begin speculating on the origins of the masks. --Jimeee (talk) 00:15, 28 April 2013 (GMT)

The dragons were the source of the Dragon Priests' power. Who else would have made the masks? The immortal demigod overlords seem like the obvious answer. —Legoless (talk) 00:35, 28 April 2013 (GMT)
It is the obvious answer, but Jimeee is correct that we don't know that explicitly. I agree with you that it's logical to assume that it's dragons doing the granting of the mask, and from that it follows that they would be the ones making the time-bending artifacts. Looking at the edit history, I think Jimeee's wording will lead people to this conclusion, but without the UESP relying on assumed facts. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 00:40, 28 April 2013 (GMT)
Yes. Using whatever "seems" like the obvious answer is a slippery slope.--Jimeee (talk) 00:45, 28 April 2013 (GMT)
