"Otheri's hand is a steady one upon the great ship that is Telvanni."

Nelos Otheri was Archmagister of the Vvardenfell chapter of the Telvanni Council, based in Sadrith Mora. He ruled over the tower of Tel Naga, and his Mouth was Angharal Suth. He was also renowned for his mastery of mycoturgy, and served as a patron to a group of esteemed mycoturges acknowledged as the finest in the entire Morrowind.[1][2] In addition, he extended his support to Magister Varkenel's endeavors in experimenting with the creation of new animal species, particularly the Vvardvarks.[1]

History[edit]

In 2E 582 he was conducting studies on Dwemer artifacts in Mzanchend,[3][4][5] west of Sadrith Mora.[6] He was assisted by various guards,[5] and apprentices including an Altmeri wizard Arowende.[7][8][9] Nelos dedicated his studies to the intricate machinery within those ruins.[10] Many mages, such as Saduro worked in Magister Otheri's laboratories.[11] Having made a significant discovery, Nelos chose not to divulge his research findings, causing magisters like Gothren to desire his research notes.[12]

In the same year a magically talented Argonian slave owned by Nelos,[13][14] Sun-in-Shadow met with the council of Telvanni mouths and was freed from her bonds, then proceeded to the rank of a hireling, in service of the Archmagister, initially hoping to liberate Eoki, another slave of Nelos, talented in Hist related magic.[15][16][17] With help from an outlander, she attained the role of oathman[18] and along the way, clashed with Magisters such as Gothren of Tel Aruhn. Those schemes involved theft of Otheri's research journals for Gothren.[15][19][20] As time passed, Sun-in-Shadow continued her work to become a magister.[21]
