Wayrest

The Lariat Family (also spelled Lariate)[1] was an influential Breton family of Wayrest, active in Third Era. They were distant cousins of the Septims, and were known for their high position within the Empire.[2][UOL 1]

Gallivere Lariat was consort of Katariah after the death of Pelagius Septim III. With her, he was the father of Uriel Septim IV, also known as Uriel Lariat. At some point Uriel Lariat became King of Wayrest, and was adopted into Septim Dynasty by Emperor Cassynder. Cassynder was succeeded by his adopted half-brother as an Emperor. Despite the adoption and distant relation between Lariats and Septims, Uriel's lack of a close connection to the Septim bloodline led to lingering sedition against his rule. Few of the Elder Council could be persuaded to accept him fully as a blood descendant of Tiber Septim.[1][2]
