The Hunter's Amulets are two Daedric artifacts associated with the Daedric Prince Hircine. Both the Hunter's Amulet of Strength and Hunter's Amulet of Speed are known to exist, associated with his aspects - Hrokkibeg, the Aspect of Strength, and Storihbeg, the Aspect of Speed, respectively.[1][2]

History[edit]

The amulets were rumored to have been awarded to the Nerevarine for their participation in Hircine's Great Hunt, which took place on the island of Solstheim in 3E 427. The Great Hunt involved the island's four champions taking part in the hunt as Hares: the Nerevarine, Karstaag the Frost Giant, Captain Falx Carius of Fort Frostmoth, and Tharsten Heart-Fang, leader of the Skaal and holder of Hircine's Ring. It is unknown if the Nerevarine took part in the Hunt as a Hound or as a mortal. The Hare had to navigate a maze filled with werewolves to reach the Hunter. The Nerevarine made it through the maze, but in order to escape the Hunt, they were required to fight one of the aspects of Hircine. It is unknown whether they fought against the Aspect of Strength, Speed, or Guile. It is known, however, that the Nerevarine succeeded in defeating the Hunter, causing the glacier to collapse and ending the Hunt of Hircine. Some accounts claim that the hero was rewarded with the Hunter's Amulet of Speed for the victory over the Aspect of Speed. Other sources state that they fought the Aspect of Strength and were awarded with the Hunter's Amulet of Strength. In some versions of the tale, the Nerevarine fought the Aspect of Guille and was rewarded with the Spear of the Hunter instead.[1]
