The Other Half[edit]

The Other Half is a location in the Shivering Isles in the The Shivering Isles episode of the Isle of Madness story. It is unlocked upon visiting A Man Divided. In seeking to gain access to Sheogorath, Talym must amuse the Daedric Prince of Madness. Upon selecting the match and after Talym and Tavyar converse, the options "Fight Knight", "Fight Mage", and the ambiguously named "You know…" are displayed. The first of this results in playing with the left lane a Flanking Lane, the second a Mage Tower, and the third results in the left lane becoming a Flanking Lane and the right lane becoming a Mage Tower. Fighting the knight results in a Spellsword opponent named "Tayvar the Knight", whilst fighting the mage results in a Mage opponent named "Rayvat the Mage". Fighting both results in a Tribunal Temple opponent named "Crazed Knight". Completing it for the first time unlocks playsets of the cards Unstable Madman and Tavyar the Knight/Rayvat the Mage. Electing to tell the truth to the knight and mage also nets a title, The Truthbringer.

Dialogue[edit]

Before the match:

Talym: "You… you wouldn't happen to be following around a mage named Rayvat, are you?"
Tavyar: "What?! That worm? No, he's the one who's constantly following ME around! If only I could find him, I'd run him through!"
Talym: "You, uh… You look a lot like him, you know that? A whole lot."
Tavyar: "Nonsense! That weakling and I are nothing alike. Say, you wouldn't be willing to sort him out for me, would you? Believe me, he deserves it."

If Fight Knight is selected:

Talym: "No, I promised Rayvat I'd sort you out. And a deal's a deal I suppose."

If Fight Mage is selected:

Talym: "(Sigh.) Sure. I'll sort out 'Rayvat.' Tell you what, why don't you go around the corner and I'm sure he'll turn up."

If You know… is selected:

Talym: "You do realize you're the same person, right?"
Tavyar/Rayvat: "What? No, that's ridiculous! Although… it would explain… Oh. Oh god. No. No, it can't be true! How dare you, you insolent, you… you pathetic coward? I'll blast you to pieces!"

After the match:

Talym: "Something tells me I'm not going to get paid for this job. (Sigh.) Well, hopefully Sheogorath at least enjoyed the show."
