George Ziets
Role(s) Game writer, designer
Softworks tenure Nov 2007-Dec 2008[1]

George Ziets was the Lead Writer at ZeniMax Online Studios during the very early development of The Elder Scrolls Online in 2007 to 2008.[1] During his fourteenish months on the project, Ziets didn't write any actual dialogue or game text for quests or characters, as the game and its systems weren't ready for that yet; instead, his job was to conceptualize the overall settings, factions, stories, and characters of the game, which he did in collaboration with story designer Tim McCracken.[2] Much of the design he originated made it into the final game, including the three alliances and certain characters, such as: Varen, the Tharns (Abnur and the Empress-Regent), the Longhouse Emperors, Skald-King Jorunn, and the Adventurer Queen of Summerset.[2]

Ziets was succeeded as Lead Writer by Sam Johnson, who joined the company in 2009.
