Unneeded[edit]

I think that this page is unneeded. There seems to be only one Silt Strider in game, and it cannot be used for transport, killed, or in any way interacted with. Its name is Dusty, but that is known only from dialogue with its owner, and does not appear when you get close. If there needs to be a page, it should be named Dusty, but in all honestly, it should probably be included on the Silt Strider lore page and a small note on the page of Dusty's owner. It may not be a "real" creature to your standards, but it does have a presents in the game and the simple info we have is good enough to keep. Even in Morrowind they didn't have much of a role. But add it to the lore article anyway. --Winch1990 (talk) 23:54, 9 December 2012 (GMT)
In morrowind they had a HUGE role. There was no fast travel. 90% of travel was by silt strider or boat and there was a dozen of them scattered across morrowind. In DB, there is ONE and it doesn't do anything. There aren't Silt StriderS on Solstheim, there is Silt Strider.... One. It doesn't need its own species page. Just put it on the Passive Creatures page for Skyrim, just like the Felsaad Fern (of which there are atleast 10) and pearl oysters (of which there are dozens...). Silt Striders just doesn't deserve its own page. Jeancey (talk) 23:59, 9 December 2012 (GMT)
It's not an actual creature with stats in game data. If you really want to document this, I think this should be moved to passive creatures, and convert this to a redirect. ~ Psylocke 00:01, 10 December 2012 (GMT)
I argee about Morrowind, and without the fast traveling the strider here is no more or less a creature then it was considered in Morrowind. It should remain document as is but adjusted so it only mentions Dusty. Some people out there may not have played Morrowind so seeing a Silt Strider in DB may be the first time they learn about them in Dunmer culture. The page doesn't have to be expansive in anyway but it deserves it's place. --Winch1990 (talk) 00:38, 10 December 2012 (GMT)
Does Red Mountain deserve its own article in the DB namespace? Some people may not have played morrowind so seeing the mountain in DB may be the first time they learn about it in Dunmer culture. In terms of game mechanics, it serves the same purpose. It's part of the architecture of the world but doesn't serve any real purpose. Jeancey (talk) 00:46, 10 December 2012 (GMT)
Apples and oranges aside, if I was able to walk right up to red mountain then that would be significant, the page can be renamed Dusty if thats not mundane enough. Otherwise i dont see this page being related to the DB creatures in anyway other then it being as part of the atmosphere as it was put in the dlc. I think Dusty's presents holds significance. — Unsigned comment by Winch1990 (talkcontribs) at 01:02 on 10 December 2012‎

() I would support Dusty being documented on the wiki as a passive creature. Though he cannot be interacted with in ways similar to most creatures in the game, and he's certainly not as relevant to players as silt striders were in Morrowind, his presence in the game is worth documenting somewhere. — ABCface 03:24, 10 December 2012 (GMT)

I agree that it should be documented, I just don't think it needs its own page. A redirect to passive creatures would be fine imo. Jeancey (talk) 03:27, 10 December 2012 (GMT)
