Puzzle[edit]

That puzzle will need explaining. AFAIK, it involves power attacking with the Bloodskal Blade aiming at the red lines - horizontal, vertical, horizontal, as the lines are running. I don't do fancy power attacking normally. Can anybody explain it in a way that will help on all platforms? --Alfwyn (talk) 22:25, 7 February 2013 (GMT)

There's a description in the Notes section on the Bloodskal Barrow page, I suppose that could be copied to this page, but it could probably be improved on. It's something to start with, at least, if anyone wants to have a go at making it more clear. — ABCface 22:38, 7 February 2013 (GMT)
Reworked the description making it friendly to any platform and more detailed and added it to this page, the Bloodskal Barrow page, and The Final Descent page (within the walkthrough text replacing the previous description which was the same text copy-pasted to each of these pages). - Snowolf69 (talk) 06:00, 17 February 2013 (GMT)

Bug?[edit]

I'm not sure why, but this mine seems to not respawn at all. Once I cleared out the Ebony, nothing came back. Schiffy (talk) 05:05, 17 February 2013 (GMT)

More ore veins[edit]

I found two additional ore veins in a side tunnel to the right just after the iron barred door.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 03:05, 14 April 2013 (GMT)

I'm quite positive that I included those in the 9 vein count. Jeancey (talk) 05:30, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
I came out with 33 ores, and I didn't pick up any loose ones in the mine, and I don't think I carried any in with me. Here's my finds in detail: I found 3 ore veins next to the respawning Frostbite Spider, 3 directly opposite these across the chasm and in a side tunnel, then 2 more on the left as you descend the ramp after the iron bar door, and finally 3 in a side tunnel that has appeared opposite those. I would have missed those last 5 myself if I hadn't noticed that the miners want to get into the section that is boarded up again. I could have sworn there were four ore veins at the second listed area too, but on a reload from entering the mine (after I accidentally hit one of the miners and got a bounty I didn't want) I found only three there.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 06:37, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
I think we'll have to wait until someone with a PC gets to examining the mine for how many ore veins are flagged to respawn, because I just came out with 30 ores, and this time I'm certain they all came from the 10 full ore veins that I found. 6 veins worked the first time and 4 others had ore when I exited and reentered.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 00:47, 15 April 2013 (GMT)

inactive veins![edit]

The ebony veins in the mine are all... Bugged. They appear, but without collision (i ghost through the ones that aren't part of the walls/floors... The activation text isn't there, and manually mining (tried all the variants of pickaxes I have) swings into thin air without impact sounds at all.

Playing on PS3, and I only did the necessary Solstheim quests for the manor and got rid of Miraak. 24.212.17.8 01:56, 17 July 2013 (GMT)

Only doing the main quest and quests to get the manor is precisely your problem. You need to complete the quest The Final Descent in order for the mine to be active again. Until you do, the mine has been completely mined dry and as you'll find out after the quest, your character discovers more ebony in the mine. *WoahBro►talk 02:00, 17 July 2013 (GMT)
I had the same problem. I went to skyrim and didn't return to raven rock for like a month, then I visited the mine, re-entered, and the veins were active (at least some, I mined like 27 ore).Gabrole (talk) 21:51, 9 September 2013 (GMT)

Glitched spots underwater[edit]

As I swam around the bottom of the pool of water in the word wall chamber, I noticed that as I passed over 3 of the Nordic barnacle locations, my air timer reset. I was able to do this over and over again, even halting the damage that was occurring because I had been underwater too long. Does this happen for anybody else here? I know there's an entry on the Glitches page about this, but I've never been able to exploit this reliably anywhere else, and although it may just be coincidence, it seems to be related to the harvested Nordic barnacle clusters that are present here. --Xyzzy Talk 14:07, 3 November 2013 (GMT)

Only 6 ebony veins founded[edit]

Sorry but only 2 locations each with 3 veins are in the Raven Rock Mine!! Where is the third locations? — Unsigned comment by 195.245.209.30 (talk) at 09:17 on 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Dragon Aspect Word Wall Doesn't Work[edit]

I added a bug note indicating that the Word Wall may be glitched. Even with the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch v. 2.1.2, the trigger appears to be broken, as when you get too close to the wall, the effect fails to play properly and all the words turn a dark red instead. From what I've found on the web, this isn't the only Word Wall with this glitch. Each time I've played through the game, I've had to use "tcl" to get the wall to work properly. Millius not spawing[edit]

I can confirm that the remains of Millius sometimes don't spawn. This happened for me on the xbox one playing the special edition. I reloaded from before I jumped down to see if I'd accidentally disturbed the remains, but they were definitely not there. Obax (talk) 01:36, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

Mine Not Cleared after first visit[edit]

The Mine didn't show up as cleared after my first visit, where I fairly certainly took out all Draugr. Upon returning, looking for what I might have missed, suddenly the tune for a cleared dungeon played. This happened as I entered the little portion of Bloodskal Barrow behind the Waterfall with the Stalhrim sarcophagus. Not sure what to make of it. Other (open world) Dungeons like the Weynon Stones or Skytemple Ruins also had somewhat of a delay with being marked as cleared. 95.90.206.151 00:33, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Location of all potions of waterwalking[edit]

According to this page there are only four potions of waterwalking in the entire game, however this walkthrough only seems to note the location of three of them. Sporky (talk) 12:02, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

The potion data is from the data, while the walkthrough is from ingame observation. If you can find the fourth it can be added, but it may be in an unused cell. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:36, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
I found the missing potion via creation kit and confirmed in-game and have added it. Do you think it deserves noting as important treasure, considering it is unique to this location and you cannot craft your own? Sporky (talk) 23:35, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
I'm not inclined to as I wouldn't consider them to be that useful or important, however, it is certainly worthy of a note that these are the only four and not just the only four guaranteed ones. There should only be one potion linked in the description section, but thanks for looking for the missing one. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 23:58, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
